- Unparalleled views across the Mediterranean
- Boutique property encased in natural surroundings
Tucked away in amongst a dense portion of fauna and flora, the Baglio La Porto di San Gerardo sits atop a hill and magnificently exposes Vito Lo Capo’s stunning piece of coastline, as well as providing an outlook to the unspoilt Zingaro Nature Reserve, all made visible from the Baglio’s large terrace. For a truly organic spectacle, it’s worth participating in an al fresco dining experience for both breakfast and dinner, as guests will be treated to an unhindered view of the sun rising in the east of the Mediterranean and setting in the west, respectively.
While away your afternoon beside the panoramic pool with plenty of spots to sit back and immerse yourself in a good book, or unwind in the serene Wellness Area. Alternatively, if you favour the open water then the beautiful beach of Tonnarella dell’Uzzo is just a 5 minute journey by car or you can opt to use the hotel’s shuttle service (on request) to visit the famous Spiaggia Vito Lo Capo, a pearl of the Trapani coastline and celebrated for its Caribbean aesthetic.
Furnished throughout with parquet flooring and distinctive subtleties, the Baglio La Porto’s guestrooms are inviting, warm and homely. Intimately designed with the guests in mind, the rooms are spacious and all come complete with a generous share of outdoor space.
Car hire is recommended for this area.

About the location
San Vito Lo Capo slots onto a cape on the north-west coast of Sicily. It might be a little beach town, but you can’t miss it – its whitewashed houses and seafood restaurants are backed by hulking Mount Monaco (and fronted by Caribbean-worthy turquoise waters). Fishing boats and sunloungers sit shoulder-to-shoulder on the sand, while cafés supply Aperol spritzes and fresh seafood snacks.
But it’s not all about the beach. The town itself showcases an ancient sanctuary and piazza, plus a 19th-century lighthouse. The past comes through in its dishes, too – watch out for Cous Cous Fest in September.
Caves, coves and watchtowers carve out the rest of the coastline. The seven-mile-long Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve is a highlight, with rosemary groves, olive trees and pint-sized palm trees particular to this part of Sicily. Mount Monaco is right next door, too – and home to the best bird’s-eye views in town. Don’t fancy the hike? There’s a choice of sea-view lookouts along this cape, including the china-white Faro Capo San Vito lighthouse and the crumbling Tonnara del Secco.
Meanwhile, charter boats set off on grotto tours and fishing trips from the marina. You can even nip over to the nearest big cities. San Vito Lo Capo sits halfway between historic Trapani and the island’s capital, Palermo.

We booked a Luxury West Sicily trip with stays in 3 country hotels and one B&B in Palermo.
Our first stay after a winding road trip from was Baglio La Porta, almost and the end of the road past San Vito lo Capo. After a friendly and efficient welcome, we dove into their truly heavenly pool. No description will suffice, just look at the many pictures available on the Internet. But I must say the pool area had the best comfortable couches ever, No problem falling asleep, in the fall - sun :). The Deluxe Twin room is modern, excellent bed, but somewhat small for those used to sleep big. Quiet and secluded. One can opt for a jacuzzi in the garden.
Best of the trip for us were the lounge areas and the restaurant. Ample, very friendly staff, excellent cuisine, a new menu every day, and super wines. Breakfast was plentiful, extras like custom-made juices are added to your bill. The Baglio is a short 10 min drive from the North entrance of the Zingaro National Park. A must for every visitor. No entry without good shoes. Interesting vegetation with the local variety of palm tree, and lots of Euphorbia. Secluded little beaches down to the shore, with a fabulously blue sea. In San Vito Lo Capo, the Baglio has a sister hotel on the beach, handy for valet parking and a place on the sand with an umbrella. Lots of little outside in town restaurants for a lunch. With the Zingaro Park and San Vito, the Baglio merits at least a three nights stay.

We stayed here for two nights and could choose between a junior suite and a double room. We found the later better.
Located in the mountains, 7 km from San Vito and 3 km from Zingaro National park it has an ideal location. Every room has its own entrance and patio. But the best thing was the garden and the pool area. So tranquil. An excellent breakfast was served on the terrace with the sun rising over the sea. Just marvellous.

We stayed two nights at this beautifull property which is 8 min from San Vito in the beautifull mountains of northern Sicily.
Pro's
Amazing location, and the best possile view, great pool with enought sunbeds (water was cold half oktober), a lot of privacy all over the property. More a couple then a family location.
Conts
In general there is too much focus on making money: Example: Management kindly offered us a welcome drink, but put it on the final invoice. There is a small hottube, but they charge EUR 20 per person, per hour, Restaurant wasnt special , but way overpriced. (there a much better places within 10 min driving). Our suite was very dark and wet

This is some nine kilometers from San Vito high on a mountain hill side with a marvellous view to the sea. It has once been a manour produssing olive oil ( you still can see the olive press in the reception). It is really very loney and without a rented car you ar definitely lost. There is no public bus and one shuttleba day may prove insufficient as this would mean you have to stay down at the overcrowded beach the full day or trake taxi - if you get one. The road is curvy and seems even dangerous. The restaurant is of outstanding quality, but if you have walked to the pool you know the whole park very well-Rooms ( we had a suite) are OK, rooms are sparated by steel sheet furniture ( which may cause some bang), the bath and the toilet are together behind milky glass. If you need siomething there are no shops around, you may take the shuttle or a taxi to San Vito. Wifi works very well.
but extremely costly and somehow dark. I owuld need more light.

Stayed there 5 nights over Ferragosto, and were glad to NOT having booked at it’s sister-hotel on the ab-so-lu-te-ly overcrowded beach in San Vito. Returning to this quiet and elegant eagle‘s nest after a sun-drenched day was a treat every evening.
Rooms not grand, but okay-sized w/ modern design. Unfortunately no rooms overlooking the ocean- most situated towards the mountainside.
Breakfast absolutely okay with a VIEW!
Sundowners and dinners, overlooking the bay under the moonlight: breathtaking!
Very good cuisine and service.
Definitely not our last time there.
