- Stroll through pretty Castelbuono
- Sample delicious locally produced wines
- Try local cheeses, honeys and fresh-baked bread
The Madonie Mountains are scattered with picturesque hilltop towns, and possibly the prettiest of all is Castelbuono. After a stroll through its medieval town centre and a pit-stop at the majestic castle, you’ll head to the Abbazia Sant’Anastasia, an old abbey-turned-winery. You’ll sample some of the local cured meats, spicy cheese, honey and bread, all washed down with tasters of their award-winning wines. You’ll also have the chance to visit the cellar, where the wines are aged in handcrafted oak barrels.
We say “Sicily’s wines aren’t as well-known as those from Tuscany or Lombardy, but they are delicious. Make sure you try the delicious antipasti too.” Tim Dicks, Product Executive
