About the location
An Aeolian Island adrift from Sicily’s northern shore, mysterious Vulcano is an island well worth unpicking. A favourite of visitors looking for the unexplored, Vulcano’s beautiful volcanic landscape means fantastic hiking, black-sand beaches and natural mud springs. It’s quickly earning its spot on Italy’s ‘volcano trail’; you can reach its peak, Fossa di Vulcano, in around three hours. Vulcano Porto, the main town, is filled with a handful of restaurants and shops, but it’s really Vulcano’s remoteness that is the basis of its appeal – and mystery. It’s not hard to see why the island crops up in Greek myth; according to legend, the Romans named the island after the god Vulcan, believing the smoking volcano to be the chimney of his workshop.

We had a good time at this hotel, which is really ideally located. Most of the staff are very kind and willing to help, which is very nice. We had many lunches and dinners at the restaurants and were each time warmly welcomed. The food was also good though there could be more choices on the menu maybe.
Sunbeds are very comfortable and the pools are great. You can enjoy the sun and have a nice swim with a breathtaking view.
Regarding the room, we were disappointed by the cleaning especially in the bathroom. We also noticed that not every evening the cleaning lady would come and prepare the bed for us. It???s fine but normally this should be a regular service, I guess.
The breakfast was disappointing as on a five stars hotel it must be a highlight. Here unfortunately fresh bread was missing and the pastry not really tasting. It???s a pity as there are so many good things to eat in Sicily.
We had a relaxing time even if it was not as perfect as we had wished. The spot is really unique and everyone is doing its best to make us feel welcomed, that???s really kind of all of them and that???s why I would still recommend your place. It???s great for chilling and enjoying life outside of the stress.

Very good hotel in outstanding locale. A bit out of town but offers regular free shuttle, which ran until after 22.00. Impeccable service. Several dining options - strongly suggest though that you do not take a half-board option. Breakfast "buffet" excellent, somewhat spoiled by not in fact being a buffet - appears to be a Covid thing. Drinks rather pricey, although mini-bar soft drinks were included in price, including water. 6 Euros for water with dinner, but, curiously, free with breakfast. Amazingly scenic pool, bar, restaurant areas - all of the Aeolian islands in view simultaneously.

Had a wonderful couple of nights at the Therasia. A beautiful bright airy hotel with spectacular views towards the other Aeolian Islands. The staff were excellent and most attentive. Food was delicious.
All the reception staff were charming, but a special word for Gisella the reception manager who accompanied my husband and I to the medical centre when he fell ill and translated for us. I don't know how we would have managed without her.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Really nice welcome service, clean rooms with free mini bar (wow!), resort looks new even though it was built 1970 and renovated 2002-2005-ish, fantastic breath taking views around the resort with the infinity pool as the crown. Vulcano as island very interesting history with one of only three active vulcanos on Sicily. I give 5 star rating because of the experience of this beautiful remote location. However, at times, the service wasn't top notch. In restaurant for dinner and breakfast just a lot of people around you that just made you uncomfortable. Friendly but irritating... Service didn't get better with 5 persons doing what 1 person can do. Dinner at the grill restaurant was quite mediocre for that price. Simple meat, and some small potatoes, ???28. Though, I have to say, had the best pizza ever on the Grusoni restaurant, I think name was Vulcanello. Great pizza!
