Panarea and Stromboli from Taormina

  • Sail along Baja Cala Junco and past the famous Zimmari beach
  • Visit the village of Capo Milazzese on Panarea, dating back to 1400 BC
  • See the sunset over the Aeolian islands in Stromboli before admiring the volcano’s ‘Stream of Fire’

Panarea is the smallest of the Aeolians, renowned for its dramatic coves and whitewashed streets, it is a haven for fashionistas and famous faces. Grand yachts dot the island’s dainty harbours, with chic homes scattered all over and not a car in a sight.
Stromboli is a truly striking spectacle, jutting out the sea like a pyramid with incredible symmetry, this active volcano is like few others in the world.
This full-day excursion will begin with sailing Panarea, sailing along Baja Calajunco and Zimmari’s beach before docking in San Pietro. Once you pull up you’ll have a couple hours to explore this tiny island and it’s winding streets. Visiting the small prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese, perched on a little peninsula or taking a dip in the sea are both a must-do.
In the afternoon you will depart for Stromboli, with stunning views looking back towards Panarea and its surrounding islands. Upon arrival you can head around the main village, spotting the medieval churches, going up to the crater viewpoint or dining in one of the many restaurants. Following the sunset, a night time departure will enable you to admire the Sciara del Fuoco (“Stream of Fire”) as lava flows from the exploding Stromboli, a spectacular sight.
We say: “This is a brilliant combination of two contrasting but equally impressive islands. The glitz and glamour of Panarea, one of Italy’s most exclusive locations, as well as the raw natural beauty of the iconic Stromboli makes for a genuinely unforgettable day-trip.”
