Delve into Sicily’s history with this full-day excursion to two of the island’s UNESCO-protected sites. After an early start, you’ll arrive at the archaeological area of Agrigento at around 10am for your first guided tour. Set on a high ridge overlooking the sea, the Greek temples at Agrigento are some of the best preserved in the world. You’ll walk along the Sacred Way, stopping to view the Concordia Temple and explore the ruins of the Temple of Zeus.
Next up you’ll have free time for a lunch break on the San Leone seafront, before heading off to Piazza Armerina, home to the Villa Romana del Casale. The villa is famous for its intricate mosaics, which depict scenes of Ancient Roman life and are described by UNESCO as the finest mosaics in situ anywhere in the world.
