  • Free time to explore 3 of the 5 villages Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso
  • Enjoy a traditional Ligurian lunch
  • Sail off along the coast to Portovenere

An unforgettable day on the Ligurian coast visiting the beautiful town of Portovenere and the Cinque Terre ("five villages").

In this area of Italy, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, earth and sea blend together to create a unique landscape. The area consists of kilometres of rocky coast with caves, beaches, hiking paths and breath-taking views. You will meet at a central point in Florence where the tour will begin. The first stop will be Manarola, a tiny fishing village characterized by Genoese style houses ‘case-torri’, then you will enjoy some free time in Vernazza, a village overlooked by the remains of a Medieval castle with a cylindrical tower. Afterwards you will reach Monterosso, known as the ‘pearl of Cinque Terre’, an ancient fishing village with lovely beaches and lush vegetation. You will have a typical Ligurian lunch, where you’ll get the chance to taste the handmade pasta “trofie” with Pesto sauce, and other typical delicatessen.

After lunch you’ll also get the chance to take a swim as this is the biggest village with a perfect sandy beach and crystal clear water. After a refreshing dip, sail off along the coast on an hour boat ride to Portovenere, during this journey you’ll enjoy great views of the villages from the sea, a unique chance to take great photos! Once in Portovenere you have free time to visit this elegant and popular tourist destination where nature and human architecture are perfectly balanced. You will then take another boat to the city of La Spezia where the bus will be waiting for you. Enjoy a pleasant ride back to Florence where the tour will end.

We'd recommend comfortable clothes for this excursion, and bring along swimwear and a sun hat. The itinerary may be subject to change.
