Experience a wonderful day in the Tuscan countryside, admiring the best of Siena, San Gimignano and Chianti, sampling the unique flavour of local wines and food. Departing from Florence, our tour will start in medieval hilltop Borgo of Monteriggioni. You will stroll through its rustic streets within the ancient walls of the Borgo and enjoy a refreshment before the next stop, the beautiful city of Siena.
When arriving in Siena where our local expert guide will lead you through its steep medieval streets, admiring the splendid palaces, the Cathedral, Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building) and Piazza del Campo where the Palio horse race takes place every year. After spending some time a your leisure exploring the historic centre you will head to your next stop, the town of San Gimignano.
San Gimignano; one of the most fascinating examples of medieval towns, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here you’ll have free time to discover the beautiful squares, buildings, churches and alleyways, and have time to shop or taste one of the best ice creams in the world from Gelateria Dondoli, that has won in the Ice Cream World Championships.
Last stop, the area of Chianti where you’ll have the chance to explore a Tuscan winery, get a tour of the cellars and vineyards with the vineyard owner before sampling the wine yourself with local snacks.
