About the location
Monterosso is the biggest of the five Cinque Terre villages. It’s split into two halves – the west side is more modern, while the eastern end has a traditional feel, with narrow lanes and candy-coloured houses. There’s a handful of interesting ancient watchtowers to look out for, plus a beautiful church with a striped marble façade.
Monterosso has a couple of coarse-sand beaches, the biggest of which is in the new part of town. They’re the only ‘proper’ beaches in the Cinque Terre, so they’re well set up with loungers and parasols. Away from the beach, you’ve got the remaining four villages (Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore) to explore. You can get the train or boat between them, but for spectacular scenery, there’s nothing better than taking to the hills and hiking your way along the coast.
The hotel is 1 hour 15 minutes from Genoa airport. Return private transfers included. To change your transfers or book car hire instead, simply call us once you’ve completed your booking.

The staff is terrible. The front desk staff is mediocre. The wait staff is the worst I have experienced in years. They could careless if you are there. We were celebrating a 50th birthday while staying there. My friend emailed them constantly requesting a special local dinner. They were suppose to have the best table ready and a special meal. Since it was a friends birthday I went early to order a nice bottle of wine. They handed me a wine list amd closed the glass door between us. He never came back out. I had to go downstairs to the bar. There was no bartender so reception had to help me. Before we sat down we said are you sure this is the table. It had a post in part of the incredible view. He just stated yes. We checked multiple times this is for the birthday dinner. He gave us regular menus and they didn???t prepare anything special accept a cake . We paid 370 euros a night for terrible service. The room was small but nice. Pool bartender was decent. Pool boy was terrible .
Don???t waste your money.

We managed to get away for a week at this great hotel just after lockdown and before Italy went into the red zone. It was a great time to visit as the Cinque Terre villages and hiking trails were nowhere near as busy as they would normally be. Most places were covid aware, especially the hotel, masks had to be worn everwhere and we felt quite safe.
The hotel is superb, staff were all very friendly and efficient, the pool and bar and pizzas were great, fantastic balcony sea views, we were half board and the restaurant did not disappoint, fabulous food and wines to match, service was excellent, would thoroughly recommend this above going down into town to dine.
Rooms a little on the small size but acceptable in this homely 42 room hotel.
Breakfast was a bit busy with queues so we avoided it as we wanted to get out early onto the hiking trails.
All in all a great trip and I would highly recommend this superb hotel.
