About the location
Rome – the Eternal City – is often said to be the world’s greatest open-air museum, boasting hundreds of historic sights around every corner and in every square. There’s so much to see and do that you’d need a month to take it all in, but a week or less is enough to give you a taste of Italy’s incredible capital.
With more than 3,000 years under its belt, Rome has long been one of the world’s leading centres of culture. There are masterpieces like the Sistine Chapel, numerous wine-fuelled feasts to partake in, and a raft of iconic sights, including the world’s largest amphitheatre – the Colosseum.
Best of all, the majority of Rome’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, so you’ll be able to soak up the Roman way of life as you walk to the Pantheon or Trevi Fountain. Maybe you’ll discover a hidden church with beautiful frescoes or a secret trattoria serving excellent wine from the Lazio hills. (See our small-group food tour.) That’s when the phrase ‘when in Rome’ really comes in handy...

The staff was excellent, very friendly and helped with restaurants providing recommendations and making reservations. They also set up transportation to and from the Termini and FCO. Try the roof top restaurant and bar at the top of the hotel. The views make for a magical evening. The room was first rate and they did a great job of cleaning it everyday. The hotel is close to the Spanish Steps. You can also walk to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Rome is one of the great cities to visit and this hotel is a hidden gem.

We booked two rooms at The Hotel Savoy Roma in April 2024 for five nights. The hotel is in a great location not far from the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. It's modern and clean with well appointed rooms (some larger than others) The beds were comfy, but are very European with soft pillows and only duvets, no top sheets for those who run warm. The included breakfast was expansive and delicious. The roof top terrace has a gorgeous view with a retractable roof for those hotter days. The staff were friendly and helpful, and so accommodating. Highly recommended stay in Rome.

The room was compact but adequate. Fridge, tea& coffee, water & mini bar. The bed was amazingly comfy & shutters on the window blacked out the room.
Air conditioning works a treat too.
The Spanish steps are not even a 5 minute walk down a gentle hill. So we were able to orientate ourselves easily with the other areas to visit.
The roof top bar is stunning as we were lucky to have 4 nights of stunning weather.
Breakfast is fantastic.
A continental ++. Not just cereal & toast. But eggs & bacon too if you want.
All the tea & coffee you can drink & the fruit juice was delicious.
All the food served was cooked to perfection & the restaurant staff were. So friendly & brilliant.
I am so glad I booked this hotel. It was just perfect for our 4 night, sightseeing stay

I would highly recommend the hotel savoy when visiting Rome. It was in a convenient location, they allowed us to check in a little early, always had fresh water in the lobby, the hotel was clean and the staff were all so friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was wonderful with everything one could want to eat, and they even allowed us to take food up to our daughter when she opted to sleep in, and graciously offered coffee in a take out cup. The porter was so kind and helpful when we arrived quite jet lagged. Our travel agent chose this hotel, and we will encourage her to book it often for clients. Grazie Mille!
