About the location
Rome – the Eternal City – is often said to be the world’s greatest open-air museum, boasting hundreds of historic sights around every corner and in every square. There’s so much to see and do that you’d need a month to take it all in, but a week or less is enough to give you a taste of Italy’s incredible capital.
With more than 3,000 years under its belt, Rome has long been one of the world’s leading centres of culture. There are masterpieces like the
Sistine Chapel, numerous wine-fuelled feasts to partake in, and a raft of iconic sights, including the world’s largest amphitheatre – T
he Colosseum.
Best of all, the majority of Rome’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, so you’ll be able to soak up the Roman way of life as you walk to the
Pantheon or
Trevi Fountain. Maybe you’ll discover a hidden church with beautiful frescoes or a secret trattoria serving excellent wine from the
Lazio hills. (See our small-group
food tour.) That’s when the phrase ‘when in Rome’ really comes in handy...

We were the first guests to stay in this lovely hotel upon re-opening, the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We only had bed and breakfast so can???t comment on the evening meal. Plenty of cafes/restaurants in vicinity. Located 10 mins walk from Vatican City. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in February for 3 nights good location right next to the Vatican , we could actually see it through our room window although you do have to walk around the wall to enter so about a 5/10 min walk. Good breakfast selection and nice food in the restaurant for dinner too. There is also plenty of restaurants in the surrounding roads and a large shopping and resturant area through the other side of the vatican.
Good size clean and comfortable room.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Hotel is around 40 minutes away from the airport.
Whilst in Rome we also went on a Vatican tour, colosseum tour and had an open top bus pass which the closest stop was about 15 minutes walk away from the hotel along the river.
This allowed us to easily get to the spanish steps and Trevi Fountain.
3 nights was long enough for us to fit in everything we wanted to but we could have easily found things to fill another day or 2 if we were staying longer.

I stayed 4 days and liked the fact that the hotel is in a non-tourist area. The room was sunny and bright and the bed, linens, and feather pillows were great. Also the room was very clean and staff speak English. It is a 10min walk to Vatican.
My only complaints were that the front door of the hotel was broken during my entire stay and it was very hard to open the only "working" door as it had NO door handle on the outside and was simply kept ajar. When my hands were full it is impossible to open the door and there was no doorman to help me -- not good when it was raining! I cannot understand why they could not get the door fixed??!!
Also, be aware if you get a room that faces the main street as there are several very large trash bins on the curb outside and the city comes to empty them early in the morning and the noise is terrible -- it will wake you up! I think the bins need to be moved to an alley.
Breakfast was fair, not fantastic. No bananas, no soy milk, and the breads were very dry (for my taste).
But yes, I would stay here again. Overall it is very good and there is a great pizza restaurant next to the hotel!

Stayed here with my husband for 3 nights early February 2020. I could not fault the hotel or the staff. It was truely wonderful. Staff are charming and attentive. Our room was spotlessly clean and was cleaned to the very high standard every day. Breakfast was very good with a great choice. It can be busy depending on when you go. Breakfast was served from 630-1030.
Best part for me was the location. 5 minute walk and you are in St Peters Square. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for people wanting to visit Vatican City.
