The stylish Baglioni Hotel Regina is situated on Via Veneto, one of the most famous walkways in Rome, and near key attractions including the Spanish Steps and elegant shopping areas. It was once the home of Queen Margherita of Savoy who took up a temporary residence whilst her home, Villa Margherita, was being built. The hotel's owner was granted permission to add 'Regina' to the hotel's name because of the kind hospitality she received.

Today, this refined hotel, with sumptuous furnishings, offers a luxurious service combined with excellent hospitality. The guest rooms are decorated in a sleek, art deco style and feature classic, stylish pieces with a timeless elegance. The Brunello Lounge and Restaurant welcomes clients with a unique atmosphere, blending traditional Italian elegance with contemporary design. Head chef, Luciano Sarzi Sartori, creates delicious Mediterranean-inspired dishes using the highest quality ingredients.

This was my third trip to the Baglioni Regina, Roma, and second in 2024. For me the hotel is perfectly, and discreetly, situated on the Via Veneto allowing easy walking to almost all of the famous sites and the Termini. It was very nice to be remembered by some of the staff although this is not something I particularly crave. The entrance hall is spectacular with the reception situated discreetly to one side. The breakfast room is wonderful with a fantastic selection to cater for all tastes. At the weekend a harpist plays during breakfast. The dining/bar area is of a design that would probably not go out of fashion but, for me, it could do with a rethink in terms of making the decor lighter in colour. That said, it is still very popular. The food served in the dining room is absolutely wonderful, although a narrow but fulfilling selection. The head barman makes a cracking Old Fashioned cocktail and there is a good selection of my favourite single malt scotch whiskies behind the bar. Tea and coffee when served in the bar come with a selection of small but very edible biscuits. The staff are simply wonderful and nothing, it seems, is too much trouble. The rooms are exceptionally clean, serviced twice a day, with complimentary water left on the table. There is a well stocked mini-bar. Dressing gowns and slippers are provided. The beds are comfortable and I slept very well. There is a TV provided but why one would need one in Rome when there are plenty of activities to enjoy at night, for example, Gregory's Jazz Bar, is a mystery. The Baglioni Regina is a five star hotel and provides the service one would expect from such a hotel. The concierge is very helpful. I like the Regina because it is not imposing like the famous one directly opposite, or others close by. It is easy to walk by without registering it. I highly recommend it and I will be visiting again in the near future. I was very fortunate to have a top floor room with a balcony, from which I could easily see many of the famous monuments and buildings. My thanks to Francesca, Olga, Giovanni, Massimo, Anna and all the staff who made my stay so wonderful.
