Hotel Amalfi

Payla?? The main highlight for me here is the staff, especially John, the chef. It's worth booking a breakfast-inclusive rate because John is a talented cook and a one-man team who handles everything in the kitchen and breakfast lounge. My favourite dish was the vegetable quiche! The buffet is varied where you can find almost everything. As a heavy morning eater, I was satisfied in every way. Alessandro, Massimo, and Chiara (I hope I got all names right) at reception were super attentive. The older staff member who probably takes care of the terrace bar (though I didn???t visit) and the housekeeping staff were nice people. The charismatic boss was a true gentleman, and I also met his son, polite guy. My room was fine, clean, and decorated with frescoes like the rest of the hotel, which was a lovely touch. The kettle, the complimentary tea-coffee, and the mini fridge were a plus. The building is on the UNESCO heritage list, and the Medusa masks on the outer wall are artistic, overlooking the fascinating Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. The hotel???s location within the Monti district is perfect. Monti a charming neighbourhood to explore and conveniently connected to main attractions. The hotel was even within walking distance of the mighty Colosseum! I am happy I didn???t pay a luxurious rate for an overly touristy spot; this place felt like home, and I???m sure you???ll feel likewise. Rome???s transport system is flexible, so feel no particular need to stay near a specific landmark. Walk as much as you can, and take the bus when exhausted (I did not use the metro). Enjoy every moment and don???t stress about squeezing everything into just a few days. The city is picturesque, so enjoy every scene, and save unfinished plans for your next visit.

The location of hotel was wonderful; very close to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Termini Train Station. The staff was extremely kind, attentive, and very helpful. Accommodations were comfortable and hotel was surrounded by great restaurants and shopping.

The staff were amazing. So helpful. Couldn???t do enough for us. Very kind. The room was very clean as well as being very central too. The breakfasts were fantastic too. Something different each day if you wanted it. The chef was a lovely chap who was friendly, interesting and obviously loved cooking.
