About the location
Rome – the Eternal City – is often said to be the world’s greatest open-air museum, boasting hundreds of historic sights around every corner and in every square. There’s so much to see and do that you’d need a month to take it all in, but a week or less is enough to give you a taste of Italy’s incredible capital.
With more than 3,000 years under its belt, Rome has long been one of the world’s leading centres of culture. There are masterpieces like the Sistine Chapel
, numerous wine-fuelled feasts to partake in, and a raft of iconic sights, including the world’s largest amphitheatre – the Colosseum.
Best of all, the majority of Rome’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, so you’ll be able to soak up the Roman way of life as you walk to the Pantheon
or Trevi Fountain
. Maybe you’ll discover a hidden church with beautiful frescoes or a secret trattoria serving excellent wine from the Lazio
hills. (See our small-group food tour.
) That’s when the phrase ‘when in Rome’ really comes in handy...

Best hotel we???ve stayed at in Rome. Location is great, room was great (we had the Exec room) - but both we and other guests noticed the subtle smell of sanitizer in the rooms. Breakfast were sub par - only boiled eggs - no scrambled eggs, or omelettes to choose from. No bacon either. Suggest the hotel consider adding a chef to the mix to prepare eggs on order. Also suggest adding a much wider variety of breads to the offerings. A better breakfast would have secured the 5 rating.

First thing you notice in this hotel is the glamorous lobby and bar. You can tell it is a very old hotel that has been kept up well. Choosing a room was confusing as they offer a deluxe/superior category at quite a bit more than the 'classic' or standard room. We went with that hoping it would be larger. It wasn't and that was disappointing. I didn't see the classic room so I can't compare but our room was very well appointed. While the room was small, the bathroom was a good size and well done with plenty of towels and toiletries with a nice size shower. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The hotel is very well located with a short walk to major sights and restaurants. The elevator was efficient and quick. The breakfast was very good. The croissants were the best and there were some good cold cuts with bread and cheese. While a bit pricey for the room size, I would definitely recommend staying here.
