Housed in a 19th century building, Hotel Genio is within walking distance of Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. This four-star hotel occupies a five-storey Neo-Renaissance building that's situated virtually next door to Palazzo Altemps, home to an extraordinary collection of Classical sculptures, including the 16 that make up Cardinal Ludovico Ludovisi’s impressive collection. The hotel’s large rooftop terrace, with its wonderful views of Rome, is a lovely place to relax after exploring the centro storico areas that surround the nearby Piazza Navona, a beautiful Baroque piazza once used for chariot races. This central piazza is lined with palazzi and pavement cafés that edge towards the crowds congregating around one of Bernini’s most magnificent fountains, the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi. This hotel enjoys a central location and with its friendly service, provides a pleasant stay very close to the river in the heart of Rome.

About the location
Rome – the Eternal City – is often said to be the world’s greatest open-air museum, boasting hundreds of historic sights around every corner and in every square. There’s so much to see and do that you’d need a month to take it all in, but a week or less is enough to give you a taste of Italy’s incredible capital.
With more than 3,000 years under its belt, Rome has long been one of the world’s leading centres of culture. There are masterpieces like the Sistine Chapel
, numerous wine-fuelled feasts to partake in, and a raft of iconic sights, including the world’s largest amphitheatre – the Colosseum.
Best of all, the majority of Rome’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, so you’ll be able to soak up the Roman way of life as you walk to the Pantheon
or Trevi Fountain
. Maybe you’ll discover a hidden church with beautiful frescoes or a secret trattoria serving excellent wine from the Lazio
hills. (See our small-group food tour
.) That’s when the phrase ‘when in Rome’ really comes in handy...
The hotel is 45 minutes transfer from Fiumicino airport. Return private transfers included. To change your transfers or book car hire instead, simply call us once you’ve completed your booking.

Best part of this hotel is the rooftop terrace view.Breakfast a bit hit and miss as seemed unable to replenish scrambled eggs when they ran out.As the hotel became les.s full so the breakfast content/quality suffered. Delightful breakfast room. Hotel becoming v tired and our room was not clean in terms of dust on bedknobs, wardrobe, chair etc.Floor not swept or mopped the whole week.Situation of hotel slap bang amid streets and streets of eateries all vying for your custom with touts accosting you outside every establishment. Not v pleasant. Not close to major ancient sites but Vatican easy walk.Air con looks ancient and would not advise staying later than April.Staff v friendly and helpful with good English

Stayed here for 4 days and whilst the room was tired and needed updating, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was fabulous and the roof terrace was glorious. The hotel couldn't have been in a better position for a tourist
Would absolutely stay here again
