Hotel City

Italian Cities, Rome

  • Central location close to the Spanish Steps
  • Good value for money

The charming Hotel City is located on the second floor of a classical Roman palazzo in the heart of Rome. This hotel combines all the character and intimacy of a small hotel with modern facilities and it has a bar where the buffet breakfast is served. Conveniently, it is only a short walk from Piazza Spagna and its nearby coffee houses, which have long attracted those even from the bygone Grand Tour era. The Spanish Steps and its piazza have been at the heart of the tourist Rome since the 18th century, bringing together and inspiring some of the world’s most renowned writers and artists.

The Hotel City’s good value for money accommodation and excellent location provides an ideal base from which to explore a city that has long been the haunt of foreign visitors and expatriates.

The hotel has 33 rooms (official rating 3 star) Child prices apply to ages 2-12 years. This hotel is not suitable for guests with limited mobility

About the location
Rome – the Eternal City – is often said to be the world’s greatest open-air museum, boasting hundreds of historic sights around every corner and in every square. There’s so much to see and do that you’d need a month to take it all in, but a week or less is enough to give you a taste of Italy’s incredible capital.

With more than 3,000 years under its belt, Rome has long been one of the world’s leading centres of culture. There are masterpieces like the Sistine Chapel, numerous wine-fuelled feasts to partake in, and a raft of iconic sights, including the world’s largest amphitheatre – the Colosseum.

Best of all, the majority of Rome’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, so you’ll be able to soak up the Roman way of life as you walk to the Pantheon or Trevi Fountain. Maybe you’ll discover a hidden church with beautiful frescoes or a secret trattoria serving excellent wine from the Lazio hills. (See our small-group food tour.) That’s when the phrase ‘when in Rome’ really comes in handy...
