This excursion gives you the chance to see Capri without the hordes of day-trippers. You’ll take the ferry across mid-afternoon, arriving in Capri just after 4pm. First, you’ll experience the island from the water, boarding a private boat for a leisurely sail around the coast. You’ll then take the funicular (weather permitting) up to Capri Town for a short guided walk of the town and the Caesar Augustus Gardens.
After the tour, you’ll have a few hours free to explore Capri Town. Join the locals for la passeggiata at sunset, browse the boutiques that line the town’s narrow lanes (they tend to stay open late), then pick a restaurant for dinner. Ask your guide for a few recommendations, as the restaurants here can vary quite a lot in price.
At the end of the night, we charter a private boat to bring you back to Sorrento – the perfect end to a lovely evening in Capri.
We say: “Capri is such a romantic place – being there almost feels like being in an old romantic movie. It can get a bit chilly on the boat back, so I’d recommend taking a jumper with you – and wear comfy shoes, as there are a lot of cobblestone streets.” Geraldine Shields, Italy Expert
