Located on its own 17-acre private island, San Clemente Palace Kempinski, provides a welcoming haven away from the hustle and bustle of Venice's centre, yet is only a ten-minute complimentary private boat ride from Piazza San Marco. The formerly abandoned 17th century monastery, once belonging to the Order of the Camaldorese monks, is now, after careful restoration retaining its historic character. Elegant public areas feeding off long corridors are adorned with fine antiques and luxury furnishings. The guest rooms continue to embody their palatial surroundings with use of space, décor and history.
The four large courtyards and the centuries-old garden perfumed with linden trees, cypresses, elms and nettle trees, form the scenic backdrop for the hotel's outdoor swimming pool (normally in use May to early October). Guests can unwind on the terrace and indulge in a fresh seafood barbecue lunch or an aperitif at the La Dolce Pool Bar Restaurant & Grill.
