Day 2 : Tuscany Countryside

In the morning, visit the charming town of San Gimignano, known for its medieval towers. Explore the historic centre and enjoy the panoramic views from the top of the towers. The tallest is known as Torre Grossa, with an imposing 54-metre height, this is one of Tuscany’s most important medieval towers, dating back to 1310. 
Later, head to Radda in Chianti, a charming hilltop town with a quaint village atmosphere located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Take a wine tour and tasting to experience the famous Tuscan wines.

Day 3 : Tuscany Countryside

Take a day trip to the beautiful city of Siena, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a city you will love at first sight. Visit the Piazza del Campo, Siena’s main medieval, shell-shaped square, and the setting for the centuries-old Palio di Siena horse race which takes place twice a year (in July and August), one of Italy’s most important events. Next stop is Piazza del Duomo which hosts the famous Siena Cathedral with some impressive treasures, including the crypt and the baptistery. Spend the rest of the day enjoying a leisurely stroll through the atmospheric narrow streets.

Old town Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy

Head to Montepulciano, enjoying stunning panoramic views of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana valleys surrounding it. This beautiful walled medieval town sits on top of a hill and is full of ancient churches, charming squares, and elegant Renaissance palaces. Visit a local cantina to sample the local “Vino Nobile”.

Explore the historic city of Lucca, the birthplace of the composer Giacomo Puccini, known for its well-preserved Renaissance walls and charming streets. Days 6 - 9 : Tuscany Coast

Time to relax, the Tuscany Coast awaits!

Spend the last days of your holiday chilling out in the beautiful town of Viareggio, where golden beaches meet Art Déco architecture in one of the best-known Tuscan beach resorts. The palm-lined promenade with its colourful neo-Renaissance buildings stretches for over a mile and is perfect for a stroll in the warm summer evenings. There are many cafes, bars and restaurants, and shopping lovers will enjoy the many boutiques offering the best local and European brands.     
Don’t miss the weekly market in Viareggio which takes place every Thursday from 08.00 am to 01.00 pm. You can also visit the nearby town of Camaiore with its historic centre and charming atmosphere.

Flight Information

The majority of international flights arrive into Pisa Airport (PSA). Direct flights to Pisa are available from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Manchester and Newcastle and take approximately 2 hours. Flights into Florence airport are also available to book through our Travel Centre.

Visa Information

At the current time, British citizens do not require a visa to visit Italy.

Tipping

Whilst tipping isn’t embedded into Italian culture it is always appreciated as an acknowledgement of good service. Nowadays people generally round up a bill in a bar or cafe and leave 5-10% extra on a restaurant bill. Taxi bills are usually also rounded up.
