About the location
Montepulciano is one of Tuscany’s most picturesque sights: a beautiful hilltop town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Situated close to Siena and less than an hour from Arezzo, the town is great for those seeking an authentic slice of Italy in a prime location.
Inside of the historic walls, little construction has occurred since the Renaissance era, resulting in one of the most complete centro storicos in all of Italy. At the centre of things is the vast Piazza Grande, fronted by a magnificent town hall that mimics the hard lines and dramatic design of Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio. The stunning Tempio di san Biagio is just a short walk outside of the town’s medieval walls and remains a remarkable sight, with a gleaming dome that can be seen for miles and a grand interior adorned with frescoes.
Food options are generally authentic, with numerous trattorie offering classic Tuscan dishes like bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine steak) and lamb ragu, often accompanied by a choice of excellent wines sourced from the vineyards of the region. For true vino connoisseurs, a number of local wineries and vineyards offer tours and tasting sessions.
Car hire is recommended for this hotel. Montepulciano is 82 miles from Florence and 100 miles from Pisa. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

Our stay in Borgo Tre Rose was great. Was our third time. Very kind staff, good breakfast an diner. We had a beautiful spacious room with chairs and a table to sit outside. In the close neighbourhood to visit beautiful places like Cortona, Montepulciano, Val d???Orcia, Lago Trasimeno...a great swimming pool with stunning views over the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Nice to relax and cool down after a tour in this great region. Most of the time very quiet and relaxing. Probably because of COVID, more people with little children this year. In my opinion not the right place because people want to relax and enjoy the silence. Other than that, magnificent place. As said before...with excellent staff. We???ll be back.

Staff is very friendly. Lisa helped me a lot by scheduling and performing the tour in the vineyard with us and also scheduling our tasting dinner. Location is incredible, literally 50 steps from the vineyard. Sunset is incredible. Food was very good, even on a regular night. We waited a little bit more than we wanted to have the attention of the waiter, but was friendly when came. Biggest improvement point on our side is the wifi, which was pretty bad in the room, which will probably affect the ones that like to watch netflix before sleeping or if needed to work.
