The village of Cadenabbia is perhaps best known for the impressive Grand Hotel Cadenabbia, a heritage hotel set right on the waterfront and offering spectacular views of the lake. Facing the peninsula town of Bellagio, with the Grigna and Grignetta mountains in the background, Cadenabbia is one of the most picturesque towns on the lake’s edge and provides a great point from which to explore the many other lakeside destinations. The pretty, pastel-coloured town of Varenna can be reached with ease, as can historic Bellagio, both of which are on the main ferry route from Cadenabbia. Thanks to Cadenabbia's sheltered setting, the resort is popular from spring right through to autumn. It makes a peaceful base and is ideal for a more genteel Lake Como escape.
