Tuscany Coast

How many times roughly have you visited Italy?

I have visited Italy over 50 times, and I look forward to the next 50 times!

What are your favourite Italian destinations and why?

Lake Garda, because I can find everything I love all around – great scenery, amazing food, historical and cultural places. Verona for its culture the theatrical streets, and for a very nice glass of red wine Valpolicella!

Elba because it was my first holiday in Italy; the beaches are amazing, all different from each other and the island is surrounded by nature.  Life is sweeter when you stay in Elba Island.

What are your favourite ‘hidden gems’?

Bergamo city. Citta Alta (the high city) is wonderful, and you have to try their famous polenta dish.

What would your dream multi-centre itinerary be?

Driving and seeing as much as possible of Tuscany countryside, and then going to the Amalfi Coast to relax.

What’s your favourite Italian dish or most memorable meal you’ve had in Italy?

Every time that I travel to Italy I go to Manerba in Lake Garda. There's a very nice, small restaurant right by the lake called Da Rino. That’s where I had the best dish in my life, coregone fish (local lake fish) pasta with the homemade Prosecco. I never wanted it to end.

Do you have any travel tips for visitors to Italy?

You have to visit Italy at least 10 times in your life. But you will understand yourself the first time you're there!
