About the location
Holidays in Taormina marry history and culture to form an unforgettable experience in Italy
. It’s perched at the top of Monte Tauro in the foothills of Mount Etna on Sicily’s Eastern coastline, between the cities of Catania and Messina. This ancient town offers visitors a view into the past with a number of elegantly preserved historic treasures, from the grand Greek-Roman Theatre to the equally impressive Palazzo Corvaja, which are just waiting to be discovered.
You don’t have to be a history buff to make the most of everything Taormina has to offer. Alongside the historical sights there are plenty of other attractions to take in. The main street, Corso Umberto, is traffic free and home to an array of shops and restaurants to rival any in the bigger cities.
There are also plenty of seaside activities to dive into thanks to the town’s coastal setting. Adventurous travellers can try watersports like wind surfing and snorkelling, while relaxing scenic boat tours around the gorgeous capes and grottos of the Ionian Sea allow you to explore at your own pace. Alternatively, simply spend long tranquil days on sun soaked shingle beaches.
The hotel is 1 hour from Catania airport. Return private transfers included. To change your transfers or book car hire instead, simply call us once you’ve completed your booking.

This hotel needs an update. All these reviews that talk about 'charm' are missing the point. The reason to go here is the view, the view, the view. The rest, well, no need from the Management perspective. Why make sure you have water pressure when you have the view? Why make sure your mini-bar fridges work when you have the view? Now, to be fair, I thought service was pretty good. When we complained that our rooms were too hot (because, of course, the AC/heat doens't work... 'turned off centrally') they gave us a fan which worked fairly well. Wanted to open the windows to get the cool sea air and hear the waves, but Italian mosquitos are vicious. They did get us a cab when the we were stuck at the bottom of the hill and the cable-car randomly shut down, which was nice. So, yeah, service was fine. But the hotel could be so much more. I mean, the balcony in the morning would be a great spot to have a cup of coffee while enjoying this view, but there's no coffee maker in the room. The towels too were thin and worn. So much needs to be done. Oh, almost forgot! Don't trust their posted hours, they may, or may not, offer a service based on their posted hours... I guess it's up to the manager of that particular service to decide. Specifically for us it was room service. The posted hours say 'to 3pm'. Call down at 2:45... "no we close at 2:30". "But your hours here say 3", "It's 2:30 we close". Fine... no point arguing.

My husband stayed here for a few days while in Taormina. The positives about this place is the view is beyond and the location is great. This hotel has so much potential and it has the grandeur from the past. It is desperately in need of a renovation to meet today???s standards. They also have a beautiful area outside that I would put tables and a bar to maximum the setting for
Guests to take advantage. Of. The shower situation was so frustrating. It???s a an older handheld shower that is in the middle of the shower that is semi-broken. There are no shower curtains. Therefore, when you take a shower expect there to be water all over the place because
Of this faulty setup. It is can also pose a dangerous situation in the bathroom. There is also no one ever sitting at the front desk when you walk by. The front desk could have been more accommodating, informative and friendly. We also asked for an ice bucket or something so we can chill our wine. Instead, they gave us a small soup bowl of ice. These are just basic amenities that a hotel should be able to provide for its guest. Do
Not even think about parking in the lot. I have never seen so many cars parked so tightly together like a game of Tetris. Nevertheless, this hotel has so much potential and good bones but it is definitely missing the mark.
