The beautiful Cinque Terre describes the five fishing villages set on the cliffs facing out towards the Ligurian sea. This UNESCO World Heritage site is an incredible display of colour and architecture set against the back drop of one of Italy’s most famous coastlines.
You’ll depart from Milan on a scenic route heading towards Manarola, one of the oldest villages in the Cinque Terre which dates back to the 14th century. Here you’ll have a chance to explore on your own. You may choose to wander along the piers and admire the views or discover small shops and restaurants located around the narrow cobbled streets.
Once you’ve discovered the delights of Manarola you’ll then catch a train to the largest of the five villages – Monterosso al Mare. With beautiful coastlines and beaches to explore you’ll no doubt have built up an appetite for lunch. You could try one of the many cafes and restaurants found in the village before you depart on a memorable boat trip where you get to see the village of Portovenere from the water. The 90 minute boat cruise is the perfect way to round off the trip before you arrive at La Spezia where a coach will be waiting to take you back to Milan.
