Water sports and sailing are a big hit around the town of Bardolino, with the shores of Lake Garda within easy reach. Take a picnic and set sail for the day, or try adrenaline fuelled activities like water skiing and jet skiing. The area surrounding Bardolino is especially well known for its exquisite varieties of wine. Bardolino Grape and Wine Festival is held between the end of September and beginning of October. It offers visitors the chance to try some of the best regional bottles, including the famous Bardolino red wine. Fruity and dry, it’s perfectly paired with pasta dishes, pizzas and antipasti. Every evening, the festival ends with fireworks and live music.
Tortellini is a famously delicious main meal consisting of round tubes of pasta with a traditionally rich, creamy sauce. Try meaty varieties with wild boar meat, pork or beef, or the vegetarian version which is filled with mushrooms or cheese. Topped with a thick, creamy sauce it’s a famous delicacy of Lake Garda and a must on your holidays here.
