Bardolino holidays take you to the south east shore of Lake Garda, in the north of Italy. Here you’ll find an idyllic little town steeped in history and framed by a spectacular natural setting.

Spend your days relaxing on the shores of Lake Garda or enjoying boat trips and excursions across to the other towns. Its harbour is full of luxury yachts, while those wanting to get active can sail, water ski, jet ski, kayak and more. Head into the surrounding hills for hiking and mountain biking, or simply sit with a coffee in a pavement café as you watch the area’s stylish residents come and go.

Foodies can head into the countryside for vineyard tours and wineries, while Verona, the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, is just a 40 minute drive away. Other towns to visit along the lake are Garda, a celebrity hotspot, and Lazise, where you’ll find historic stone architecture.

Bardolino Specialities

The area surrounding Bardolino is especially well known for its exquisite varieties of wine. Bardolino Grape and Wine Festival is held between the end of September and beginning of October. It offers visitors the chance to try some of the best regional bottles, including the famous Bardolino red wine. Fruity and dry, it’s perfectly paired with pasta dishes, pizzas and antipasti. Every evening, the festival ends with fireworks and live music.

Tortellini is a famously delicious main meal consisting of round tubes of pasta with a traditionally rich, creamy sauce. Try meaty varieties with wild boar meat, pork or beef, or the vegetarian version which is filled with mushrooms or cheese. Topped with a thick, creamy sauce it’s a famous delicacy of Lake Garda and a must on your holidays here.
