Nebrodi National Park

Located in the rural area of North East Sicily, (a couple of hours drive from the busy fishing town of Cefalù) Nebrodi National Park is a vast mountain range which forms part of the Sicilian Apennines, together with Madonie and Peloritani. With fewer visitors than the Madonie Mountain, this park will wow you with its sense of unspoilt beauty and surprise you time and time again with its diverse landscape and wild life. The Nebrodi is perfect for adventure seekers, whether you’re a keen hiker wanting to reach the peak of Monte Soro (the parks highest mountain, standing 1847m tall) or traverse the rugged terrain through the beech forests and oak woods on a mountain-bike, the park is your playground. Little often will you find an area of Sicily lacking in a wealth of history and culture, and the park is no exception to this, contributing by boasting a scattering of towns dating back to the 4th century AD; Byzantine churches and monasteries fill the charming towns of Troina, Mistretta and Nicosia, to name a few.
