Down at Sardinia’s southernmost tip, Chia is the name given to a breathtaking slice of coastline as well as the petite hamlet sitting proudly upon it. The village itself is a spread-out creation, with no real centre and lots of rugged charm.
The main appeal of Chia lies in its remarkable chain of beaches. They’re set across many miles of coastline and offer numerous seaside delights, from watersports like windsurfing, to quaint little cafes set moments from the sea. Many of the best beaches are considerable distances from nearby towns, making for a refreshingly rural escape. Head to the bay of Porto Campana for one of the best beaches, backed by white-sand dunes and fronted by wonderfully warm waters, or instead make the brief drive to Tuerradda to enjoy activities such as boat trips and scuba diving.
