- Beautiful sea views from the bar and pool area
- Close to the beach, with sunbeds and parasols for guests
Sardinia has been captivating travellers for years and it’s not hard to see why! Italy’s glorious island is world-renowned for its out of this world beaches as well as its tastebud tantalising cuisine.
Hotel La Bisaccia enjoys a superb location overlooking the bay of Baia Sardinia, one of the island's most picturesque spots. The hotel is just a stone’s throw from a lovely sandy beach which is characterised by its plethora of discreet little coves. La Bisaccia really is the perfect choice for both couples and families who want a taste of Italian island life!
The hotel is traditionally Sardinian inside and out and is built in a typical rustic style. The hotel’s pool is found in the lovely gardens and is the place to be if you want some sunny R&R with a view! There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols and there’s even a pool bar for drinks and light refreshments.
Take a short stroll into Baia Sardinia and you’ll find everything you could need to complete your Italian holiday experience - from bars to boutiques to restaurants. Baia Sardinia is quite small, so if you’re looking for bright lights, then why not head up to the nearby Costa Smeralda just 5 miles away. Known for its glitz and glamour, the “Emerald Coast” never fails to impress!
Hotel La Bisaccia has 57 rooms (official rating 4 star). Child prices apply to ages 2-12 years. Minimum stay of 2 nights ( 3 nights between 05 - 11 July and 23 August - 05 September, 4 nights between 12 July - 22 August)

About the location
Baia Sardinia remains under the radar when it comes to northern Sardinia’s beachside travel destinations. Overshadowed by the much flashier and better known Costa Smeralda just a few kilometres to the east, Baia Sardinia has none of the bigger resort’s flamboyant charms. Rather, this quiet little town is home to just a few hundred people.
However, Baia Sardinia has moved out of the shadows recently, largely due to its magnificent warm waters. These of course make it a hotspot for divers and snorkellers, but also make it an ideal resort for anyone who loves spending time by the sea. Lots of activities are centred around the water here - watersports are plentiful, and sailing is a great way to spend the day. We suggest taking a boat trip around the Maddalena archipelago to appreciate the beauty of these crystal clear waters for yourself.
What the little resort lacks in terms of big-city attractions, it more than makes up for in local evening ambience. A short stroll will bring you to the centre of Baia Sardinia, where you’ll find people of all ages and nationalities gathering in the evening. You’ll feel like a local in no time! Dining in Baia Sardinia centres around traditional Sardinian cuisine so expect a healthy dose of seafood on almost every menu. International fare is offered in most hotels.
Transfer time
The hotel is 1 hour from Olbia airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

We have just spent a week at La Bisaccia and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel has so much character, not your cookie cutter chain hotel at all, it's really charming.
The view is absolutely stunning from both the restaurant and the pool.
Everywhere is immaculately clean.
We found the breakfast offering excellent. Lots of choice, all fresh. I would have liked to see fresh fruit juice, apart from that it was excellent.
The staff are exceptional. Absolutely everyone we came into contact with was so friendly and helpful. Better service here than some very pricey 5 star properties I've stayed in.
The beach area is really lovely. Sunbeds are well spaced out and comfortable. No charge in rows 3 and 4.
The pool area is very nice. We experienced a bit of sunbed reserving by people who were nowhere to be seen so I feel management should act on their towel removal policy.
We stayed in a classic room in the main building. It was a spacious room in traditional style like the rest of the hotel with beautiful tiles everywhere. We also had a lovely little balcony.
Bathroom fixtures are a little outdated but everything is sparkling clean.
We had an amazing holiday. The location of La Bisaccia cannot be beaten, it's definitely the best located in Baja Sardinia and with pool and private beach. Baja Sardinia has a good range of cafes, restaurants and some lovely shops. The whole holiday exceeded our expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Bisaccia, it's a real gem.

We spent hours researching where to stay in the costa smerelda and were extremely happy with our choice. La Bisaccia is conveniently located in Baja Sardinia. There are loads of great beaches and nightspots close to the hotel. It was also easy to get to the famous Porto Cervo.
The hotel itself was amazing. We received an upgrade to one of the new suites and it was outstanding! The terrace, the bedroom and bathroom were all beautiful. We also ate lunch at the pool bar which was impressive.
We absolutely loved our stay at La Bisaccia and I 100% would love to return! The staff are also all so lovely and accommodating. Well done!

Honeymooners, run away!

We booked La Bisaccia, as the last leg of our honeymoon, and we REGRET IT so much! The hotel grounds are kind of pretty but everything - inside to outside - is outdated and not well kept. I emailed back and forth several times to ensure we got the Nelson lodge (because there are several) with the best ocean view. I even sent pics and asked for pics (because you can never trust website photos, that is more than the case here) and was ensured we were getting the room discussed. Of course when we arrive we absolutely did NOT get the room we were promised, and there was “nothing they could do, because all similar rooms were booked” they offered us rooms on a lower tier (not that it made much difference, the entire hotel is outdated) but they weren’t offering us a refund so why do that? Our room which we spent thousands on (absolutely not worth it!!!!!!) has bloody snot on the walls as well as on some of the bedside brochures (I took pics I doubt I can attach) and there were bugs everywhere!
When I asked the staff to speak to the manager about options and compensation- who I believe was French and certainly acted like he was French- acted as if he cared to help and tried to exhaust all options (none of which were acceptable, stay here one night and then go to a diff hotel, go to our sister hotel, stay in a better room (wasn’t better) but tomorrow bc it’s occupied today) but he actually didn’t because then when my husband talked to him he had a snide attitude and refused compensation! He ended up giving us JUST ONE night refund and 2 free beach chairs (ooooooooo thanks a $30 value) - we stayed for 5 days mind you- and put on the whole “I’ll Get fired if I give you anymore” act. Absolutely unacceptable! Then after we settled with one night refund he said I’ll give you 2 free beach days if I see you smile, excuse me??? I’ll smile when I’m happy and feel I get the level of service I paid thousands of dollars for, on our honeymoon!
We had just come from a 5-star hotel in Taormina Sicily which was absolutely AMAZING and they treated us like honeymooners, when we arrived, special treats in our room, several times during our stay!!!!! La Bisaccia??? Only after we said this is our honeymoon and this is unacceptable did they send a bottle of BAD champagne into the room, we were forced to keep which wasn’t the room we booked, with a blank card “from management and staff”- what a joke!
The hotel is outdated, very smelly, old, rooms aren’t all in the main building they’re a quarter mile walk away off the non Maintained dirt path with BUGS and insects galore!
This is a 2-star hotel AT BEST claiming it’s a luxury 4-star hotel!
Had the management handled things better, I could have atleast given this hotel a 2 stars because the grounds are pretty! The pool is big, despite it falling apart (cement falls into the pool from the edges) and the pool chairs being broken and old, the view of the little beach (which isn’t great either) was nice but overall the hotel itself the rooms the restaurant was no good.
The breakfast was gross. Runny scrambled eggs like soup everyday!
