Sina De La Ville

Our family stayed here for 3 nights in July. What a location - right by the Duomo, in the centre of it all. The rooms aren’t a bad size and it has a cozy feel. The breakfast is good, not a bad bar and a funny little pool on the 5th floor which is knee deep but ok for a cool down. Milan is amazing, we loved every minute of our visit. The staff are very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Dear Sir I am writing in order to formally register a complaint in respect of my stay at Sina De La Ville, Via Hoepli, Milan in a Double Room (Room number 43 if my memory serves me correctly) from 19th June 2024 to 22nd June 2024. Whilst my stay was comfortable, convenient and uninterrupted on the first 2 nights i.e. 19th & 20th June 2024, I experienced an electricity blackout in my room on the third night (i.e. the night of 21st June 2024). Despite repeated calls to your team at the reception and an attempt by a technician to remedy this issue, the electricity did not reconnect in my room and I was left to sleep in uncomfortable conditions, disrupting my stay and materially affecting my comfort and enjoyment. The next morning, on 22nd June 2024, I narrated the above incident to your manager, Mr Smith, and requested a refund/some compensation in respect of the second night of my stay due to the disruption I faced due to the lack of electricity in my room. By this point, I ascertained that my room was one of only four rooms affected by the electricity blackout and this was apparent from the fact that my friend, who was staying in room number 41 (if my memory serves me correctly) just 1 room away from me on the same floor, did not face any such disruption. Not only did the manager deny my request in a rude and abrasive manner, he added insult to injury and blamed me and my use of a sleep apnea machine (which I am required to use for medical purposes) for causing the blackout and unfathomably suggested that I would perhaps need to compensate the hotel. This conduct on the part of the hotel manager is absolutely unacceptable, unwarranted, offensive and discriminatory (on basis of my legitimate medical condition). Needless to say, the machine I use for my sleep apnea medical condition is suited to operate on a 230V/50Hz supply and caused no issue whatsoever when I used it in my room on the first two nights of my stay, and indeed caused no issue at all during my stay at other properties during my trip to Italy. I am reiterating my request for a refund for the third night of my stay at your hotel (i.e. the night of 21st June 2024), given the inconvenience and discomfort I faced due to the electricity blackout which affected my room which was in no way, shape or form caused by me or my conduct (including the use of my machine). I am extremely disappointed with this experience at your hotel as your property was highly recommended to me - it is regrettable that my situation and inconvenience was handled in such a rude, dismissive and unprofessional manner by the hotel manager.
