Hotel Iseolago

The hotel was very clean, and reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room we were in was OK, but in need of modernising (and softer pillows), and the bath in the bathroom was very narrow and difficult to get in and out of. For elderly visitors, it could be dangerous! The location was not the best, and required a 15-20 minute walk into town. (There were no other bars or restaurants in the vicinity), however there was a snack bar on-site by the pool area). The hotel restaurant served the occasional stunning course in what was otherwise a very bland menu, with huge pasta or risotto dishes as starters. Needs more finesse! It occasionally got noisy late evening (12.00 - 1.00), and when guests departed in the early hours, with doors banging. Overall we had an enjoyable stay in an unspoiled and not over-commercialised town around a beautiful lake and had some memorable days out.

My stay at this hotel was unexpectedly one of the least considerate hotel stays I've ever had. We had stayed here for a wedding and after the wedding party ended (~2am) we headed back to the hotel. At the hotel we realized none of the water was running in our room (no sink, no toilet, no bidet, no shower, etc.). We had to leave early the next morning for 10+ hours of travel and really needed water to prepare for this - ideally shower but at a minimum, brush our teeth. We called down to the front desk and told them of our issue and also texted other guests we knew staying in the hotel who confirmed they also did not have running water. When the employee from the front desk arrived at our room, he verified that the water was in fact not running and offered no solutions. He told us the whole place was booked/no available rooms and we could not use any common area showers or sinks (i.e. the spa shower could not be used). We repeatedly asked him to bring us bottles of water to brush our teeth. He eventually conceded after 10+ minutes of begging (at 2 am!!). He left to go get the water. He then came back 15 minutes later with a room key for another room?? Apparently there was a suite available all along that he did not want to offer us but eventually decided to offer. We used the suite to shower and brush our teeth but were incredibly frustrated with the experience. We should not have to beg for a basic hotel offering such as running water. There are only a few things I expect from a hotel (a place to sleep, running water, and a safe place to store my belongings). This hotel seriously lacks at providing one of these basic things. We contacted the hotel and shared our frustrations. They offered minimal remorse (offering only 10% off our stay). 10% off for lacking a basic hotel essential is not sufficient. We spent nearly an hour in the middle of the night working on resolving this issue, faced with hotel staff that were not eager to help us without being begged to provide a solution. I would highly recommend reconsidering if you are looking to stay here!! They truly do not care about their customers' experiences!!

Iseolago Hotel is the best hotel in Iseo without a doubt. We visited from New York to spend 4 nights and host our guests there during our wedding. We would recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone with confidence and enthusiasm. We had our wedding guests occupying the vast majority of the hotel - and the quality of service, food, and attention to detail was unparalleled. The team takes tremendous pride in delighting visitors. Every one of our wedding guests we spoke to was in awe of the staff’s thoughtfulness and service - particularly Manuela and Roberto. We cannot wait to return in a few years! LOCATION & GROUNDS Charming, quiet, and convenient. You feel as if you’re in an enchanted garden at the hotel’s back terrace. The landscaping and atmosphere is magical and inviting. It’s a pleasant 8-10 minute walk to Iseo town and the lake, making it an oasis that’s close to all the action. The lobby is comfortable with several couches for relaxing. The artwork in the rooms and common spaces is unexpected yet culturally fitting and interesting to admire. ROOMS The hotel has lovely historic, spacious, and comfortable rooms. We had a lake-facing suite that felt like our home by the end of our stay. Two bathrooms made it easy to get ready. The balcony was perfect for a relaxing moment or afternoon aperitif. Abundant bath products and slippers. The cleaning team kept the room tidy on a daily basis. DINING & BAR The on premises restaurant L’Alzavola is a gem. Daily breakfast was delightful - a thorough selection of cheese and meat, fruit, juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, and other items. Starting each morning with this spread was a highlight. Besides the food, Roberto and the other servers were warm, friendly, and extremely attentive - they didn’t spend a moment resting, going above and beyond to offer coffee and ensure that guests were attended to. Dinner at the restaurant was equally delightful. We arrived a bit late one night (close to the 9pm closing time) but the team sat us without hesitation. From a fig and cheese amuse bouche, to perfectly cooked tomato pasta, the food was divine. The gentleman with the beard served us and was so pleasant and kind that we felt well taken care of. The hotel hosted our wedding welcome party banquet which was a stellar experience. Despite the rain we had a beautiful and cozy setup indoors. From chicken wings to risotto to beef and various roasted vegetables - to at least a dozen miniature desserts - every single dish was delicious! As for the bar, the female bartender with Roberto’s help was quick like lightning and made fantastic drinks for our group. Despite multiple and sometimes complicated orders she was accurate and pleasant. FITNESS & SPA The hotel gym is large, impeccably clean, and stocked with equipment. Reserving times to visit the gym was easy. Some of our group had manicures and treatments at the hotel spa. The manicurist was precise, kind, and quick. We were really satisfied with the quality. SERVICE Last but certainly not least, the concierge and events team at the hotel is world class. We’d been communicating with Manuela from the events team since earlier this year, and it was an absolute joy working with her. We asked probably close to 100 questions while planning our wedding trip, and Manuela was always patient, responsive, and accommodating. She provided multiple local recommendations, including taxi and boat tour services, all which exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Manuela and her team’s diligence and commitment to quality, our entire stay and welcome dinner at the hotel were amazingly smooth and enjoyable. We cannot thank Manuela and her team enough. They are highly empathetic and truly invested in making every guest’s experience as enjoyable as possible. Armand & Annette
