- Prestigious hotel on the lakefront, a short walk from the centre of Sirmione
- Spacious and elegant guest rooms with lake views
One of the most prestigious hotels on Lake Garda, the Hotel Villa Cortine Palace embodies elegance and impeccable style. Impressive wrought iron gates open into extensive private parkland with a driveway leading straight to the Neptune fountain, which stands at the entrance of this luxurious hotel. The Neo-classical villa, originally a splendid aristocratic dwelling, dates back to 1870 and was transformed in the latter half of the 20th century into the stunning hotel that stands there today. Behind the Doric columns supporting the portico-façade are the dramatic public rooms richly decorated with frescoes and decorated ceilings, and the guest rooms are spacious and elegantly furnished.
Amidst the peaceful grounds is the heated swimming pool (normally in use April to September), and for the more energetic there is a tennis court and activities such as waterskiing and windsurfing (payable locally). The Hotel Villa Cortine Palace is just a five-minute walk from the centre of the charming small peninsula of Sirmione and has its own private bathing jetty open during the summer months, so you can enjoy the crystal-clear waters of beautiful Lake Garda.
The hotel has 54 rooms (official rating 5 star) Child prices apply to ages 2-11 years.

About the location
Sirmione holidays take you to a historic spa town on the shores of
Lake Garda. The oldest part of Sirmione stands on a narrow 3km long peninsula that juts out into the lake, offering strolls beside the water and a series of narrow cobbled streets and squares. The town’s famous thermal waters have been attracting visitors since classical times and you can still take advantage of their relaxing qualities at several spas.
Sirmione is one of the most popular resorts on Lake Garda – as well as the healing waters, visitors are drawn to its fairy tale medieval castle, ancient Roman ruins and some highly regarded ice cream parlours. The town’s location at the southern end of Lake Garda makes it easily accessible. By road the A4 Autostrada passes within 5km of Sirmione, while the nearest railway station is 8km away at
Desenzano del Garda, on the main Venice-Milan line.

We only had two nights here but it really made an impression. As soon as we drove through the gates and up the statue and waterfall lined hill we could not believe we were staying here! The gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept. A very peaceful oasis away from the noise and hustle of Sirmione. The pool and the deck are brilliant alternatives and the views are amazing, especially from the first floor terrace (which was always quiet)
As an old building, the rooms are not soundproofed and you can sometimes hear noise - ask for a quiet room on a higher floor if this will disturb you. For us this was a trade off of such a beautiful old building and we still slept well each night.
It is expensive, but worth it for us. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection and free prosecco.

I spent a few days at this hotel with my girlfriend in the first half of September. The hotel is truly a piece of jewellery in a breathtaking location. The premises boasts a unique setting with a huge green park, a pool with stunning views and a private pier for swimming directly in the lake. The staff at the pier and at the pool were extremely friendly and accomodating. The cleaning staff is also very professional and cordial. The room we stayed was a suite, as such it was extremely spacious and refined. I would really recommend this hotel because staying there itself is an experience thanks to its location and services. Additionally, the guest is given maximum attention and it is potentially followed for every need.

We have just spent a lovely two nights at the Villa Palace Cortine and the hotel itself and the grounds are breath-taking.
The room was an ok size and had lovely views of the lake. The beds are not the quality you would expect from a hotel such as this one. They were very hard!
Concierge and the staff on reception went out of their way to help us with booking a private boat, serving us wine once the bars were closed and reserving tables for us at restaurants. The private beach is a great place to spend a day in the sun and the bar area and upstairs terrace have lovely views of the lake and the grounds.
The breakfast itself was nice and we also had the tasting menu with matching wine pairing in the same restaurant and unfortunately, although to food was nice, the service was not as it should be. I think they were understaffed, if not, it certainly felt that way, with quite a delay between arriving and being given the menus and then in between receiving the food. This is such a shame as everything else was perfect.
This is the only thing that can be faulted, everything else was perfect and I hope we have time to return again one day, as it is a small piece of heaven in a beautiful little town.

We stayed here for four nights with our two children 6 and 4. The hotel is set in truly beautiful grounds just a few minutes walk from bustling Sirmione.
The wonderful thing about this hotel is the sincerity of the service. Everyone wants to ensure you have the best time at the hotel; the concierge are exceptional and gave us brilliant restaurant recommendations, the staff at the pool/down by the lake are charming and helpful, the cleaning staff are friendly and accommodating and the waiting staff go out of there way to ensure you are comfortable and have everything you want. I don???t disagree with some other reviews that the service can at times be a little slow, but we were on holiday and it really didn???t matter...especially as it was clear everyone was working extremely hard.
The rooms are large and the beds are great. The pool is beautifully maintained and the loungers are comfortable. We had dinner on the hotel terrace - which while not cheap was a lovely experience and worth the price tag. We also had a babysitter twice who was punctual and charming.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful hotel.

We stayed there for 4 nights in the middle of August and really enjoyed the hotel and its gorgeous park. It is very rare to find a place like this and it makes it a really perfect and secret hideout.
We also were really well guided and advised by the Concierge (the senior one) who was incredibly helpful and nice and who spoke perfect French. It really greatly contributed to making our stay very enjoyable. His junior colleague was also very helpful. Thanks to them we rented bikes and a boat without having anything to do and in the simplest was you can imagine. Merci !
There were a few downsides though :
- the service at the main restaurant is incredibly bad. I don???t know if it is because they are understaffed or if they are poorly directed, but the result is really poor. It was in our 2 weeks trip in Italy, by far, the least enjoyable experience at the restaurant. Also, and it is really important for this kind of standing h??tel, the food was just average (our two risotto wouldn???t be acceptable by a real Italian cook???s standard)
- Unfortunately the service was the same for the breakfast which really made it a stressful experience to be honest...we ended up having our coffee in our room
- The soundproofing between the bathrooms is almost non-existent and you can literally share with your neighbor everything that is happening in his bathroom.
- If you come by car, going through the crowd in the historical center of Sirmione is really a terrible experience - and because you don???t want to repeat it too often, it may lead to a feeling of being trapped in the hotel and you anticipate how overwhelming exiting by car will be.
(Fortunately you can rent a bike or a boat to leave the hotel in a less stressful manner.)
Overall the place is really one of a kind and we really had a good time there - it would really though deserve better service at the restaurant to make it a really ????palace???? experience.
