  • Boasts a prime location in Sirmione

  • Spectacular views over the marina and lake

  • Relax at the lakeside pool or in the spa

  • Enjoy a candlelit dinner by the sparkling waters of Lake Garda

When you’re looking for a relaxing break that is good for both body and soul, look no further than Sirmione e Promessi Sposi. This historic hotel has been presiding over the southern shores of Lake Garda since 1890 and has become a reference for wellness. The Sirmione thermal spa is just a short walk away, and is a great way to experience what makes this place so very special!

The hotel boasts a prime location in Sirmione, set on the banks of Lake Garda. When you have tired of drinking in the spectacular lakeside views, stroll into the lively town for a taste of autentica italia. The picture-postcard place, typical of Lake Garda, is presided over by Castello Scaligero. The 13th-century castle is exceptionally well preserved and even comes complete with a drawbridge and moat! There are also Roman ruins close by.

The four-star hotel is ideally placed for those who want to visit the surrounding area. Sail to the nearby towns such as Bardolino, Peschiera, Desenzano, Riva and Limone and discover  why we think Lake Garda is so lovely. Or, why not hop on a train to Verona or Venice? Both cities are easily reached for a day trip. And there is always the option of shopping up a storm in Milan, reachable in under two hours by train.

If you want to stay closer to home, the hotel’s restaurant overlooking the piazza is one of the best places to dine by candlelight.

Please note that access to the swimming pool of the hotel is allowed for 2 hours per day, upon reservation and availability (indoor relaxation area with beds and outdoor area where the thermal pool with sunbeds is located).

Hotel Sirmione e Promessi Sposi boasts 102 modern and comfortable guest rooms, many with wonderful lakeside views. Minimum stay 3 nights.

About the location

Perched on a narrow peninsula two miles long, Sirmione enjoys a privileged placement for all those who want to enjoy the southern shores of Lake Garda. The town’s “grotto”, castle, Roman ruins and thermal baths - not to mention its enviable lakeside beauty - make it a popular destination for holidaymakers.

Sirmione’s curative water made it world-famous during the 19th century. Well-heeled visitors from the Italian aristocracy flocked to its shores looking for wellness and rejuvenation. Celebrities such as Maria Callas kept a villa here, along with tycoons, film stars and even royalty.

Sirmione is a town where the past is very present, and we know you will be thrilled by the sheer weight of the town’s history. The gentrified past can be seen everywhere - from the cobbled streets to the beautiful, lakeside palazzos to the elegant and historic centre. Escape the tourists during the height of summer by taking the trenino, a little "train" that takes you up the gently sloping road, and away from the crowds.

Lake Garda, or Lago di Garda, remains one of Italy’s favourite holiday destinations. It is the country’s largest lake, and is blessed with a wonderful climate. The vast diversity of landscapes is stunning, with silvery-green olive trees, flamboyant cascading flowers and sparkling, emerald green waters making the setting so very special.
