Italian Lakes, Lake Garda
Perched just above the lakeside promenade, Villa Madrina blends classic Italian charm with a garden-wrapped pool and sweeping views over Lake Garda. Step out and you’re moments from the narrow lanes and cafés of Garda’s historic centre — the hotel was designed for tranquil days by the water and easy evenings in town.
Inside, twenty-nine junior suites and five suites pair antique Tondini-family pieces with balconies or terraces facing the lake. Mornings begin with an abundant buffet breakfast; by afternoon the pool beckons, and the Acquamarina mini-spa invites you to slow down with heat experiences and treatments. It’s a relaxed base for couples keen on gentle wellness, lakeside wanders and authentic Veneto flavours.
Breakfast features a generous sweet-and-savory buffet with eggs to order, local cheeses, fresh fruit and lake views; half board adds an a la carte dinner served in an elegant setting. Wine is a highlight, with a cellar focused on Veneto labels (plus Italian classics). Reservations recommended for dinner.
Outdoor Pool set in calm, landscaped gardens, creating a peaceful spot to unwind between lake excursions.
Gym open daily 09:00–19:00 with Technogym equipment; seasonal outdoor yoga with the hotel’s instructor.
Compact wellness area with sauna and Turkish bath, relaxation spaces with aromatic pine and Himalayan salt wall; treatments available. Private hire possible on request.
Situated at the southern end of the lake, Garda is one of the main destinations along the coastline and enjoys a great location just 20 miles from Verona. It’s one of the most traditional resorts on the lake, offering the joint charms of a medieval centre and a pretty waterfront promenade.
The centre of the town is one of the most atmospheric found anywhere along Lake Garda’s shore, with winding alleyways and historic palazzos characterising the area. Be sure to visit some of the sights here, including the 16th-century Church of Santa Maria Assunta, known for its stunning gilded interior. You’ll also find as many independent craft shops as boutiques here, as well as plenty of authentic eateries and cute cafes.
Villa Madrina sits on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, surrounded by olive, cypress and oleander, a short stroll from Garda’s historic centre and promenade — ideal for exploring culture, lakeside paths and nearby viewpoints.
