About the location
Situated at the southern end of the lake, Garda is one of the main destinations along the coastline and enjoys a great location just 20 miles from Verona. It’s one of the most traditional resorts on the lake, offering the joint charms of a medieval centre and a pretty waterfront promenade.
The centre of the town is one of the most atmospheric found anywhere along Lake Garda’s shore, with winding alleyways and historic palazzos characterising the area. Be sure to visit some of the sights here, including the 16th-century Church of Santa Maria Assunta, known for its stunning gilded interior. You’ll also find as many independent craft shops as boutiques here, as well as plenty of authentic eateries and cute cafes.
The whole charming affair is watched over by the majestic Rocca di Garda – a huge rocky outcrop topped by the ruins of a 5th-century castle. The climb up can be challenging, but the views at the top are well worth it. When it comes to seeing more of the area, Verona is a top pick, being just over 30 minutes’ drive from the town.

Great location, a short walk from all the restaurants, yet with a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and a view of the hill. Great breakfasts and lunch, eg nice homemade biscuits and an abundance of coffee! We were a last-minute booking so could only get a Margherita room on the back which, like the pizza covers the basics well. Everything was clean and worked well however the shower was a little small by today's standards. Service was very good and they were very accommodating providing secure garage storage for our expensive hired road bikes, although a nice touch is that they provide city bikes for free, great for getting about locally. There is also a good gym and 4 tennis courts that we would have tried had we been there longer.

Location ideal - set back from lakeside restaurants etc so quiet and peaceful with views of lake and hills. Beautiful, well maintained gardens. 5 minute walk to old town, restaurants, ferry terminal and bus station. Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean and the dining room is tranquil with views over the pool and tennis courts and the lake in the distance. The bar and lounge areas are stylish, yet comfortable and homely. ( We spent 2 mornings there during spells of torrential rain - free coffee provided!) All staff are professional, friendly and helpful. Everyone appeared committed and happy in their work. Breakfast is basically continental style with lots of choice and the added option of cooked egg dishes. No one should leave hungry! An example of staff going over and above is their offer to provide early breakfast in the dining room (rather than the usual takeaway in a bag) if going on an early excursion or flight. Nothing seems too much trouble.
Our room on the second floor was very comfortable with views from the balcony over the pool and lake.
We have stayed in many hotels but Garden Hotel has a unique ambience and friendliness rarely found. We thoroughly recommend it. A huge thank you to you all.

Fabulous family run hotel, breakfast was plentiful and great quality. Rooms very clean and beds really comfortable. Shower is a little small a think if your 6ft could be a squeeze 😊

Towels changed every day, cleaners lovely.
Wish we had upgraded to pool view as we were at the back of the property so quite dark and small balcony. But still would recommend!
Ideal location and so peaceful around the pool.
