Grand Hotel Alassio

Excellent in every way.Rooms ,well equipped and particularly appreciated the kettle,comfort ,able beds, service prompt polite and friendly high standard as well for spas massage.Ambience delightful tasteful decoration and interesting artwork.

we immediately felt at home in this luxurious haven. The staff is friendly and discreet and efficient, you truly feel welcome here. The location is perfect, right on the beach and at a 1 min stroll from quaint Alassio. For those who play tennis, there are courts available.

This waterfront hotel in the seaside town of Alassio is extremely well-staffed and equipped, it also has a very generously furnished spa/health therapy centre. However The main entrance to the hotel has two small (hotel name)brass plaques, one on either side of the relatively small revolving door ……..both obscured by large plants. The external carpet is embroidered with ‘Riviera Delle Palme Talassio Collection’ and neither the hidden plaques nor the carpet are good indicators as to where the hotel was hiding. For a stressed first time visitor arriving by car and having spent many hours in badly managed roadwork queues, the lack of signs and clear indications were not conducive to a smooth arrival. Children had been allowed to use the main spa pool in the afternoon (mornings they’re allowed in) bringing with them a cacophony of noise and a traffic jam at the most popular water jets thereby making the area into a large, unnecessary and unwanted kindergarten. The masseuse managed to arrive unacceptably late for a pre-booked massage by which time I had returned to base ………….. the head concierge was commendable for his apologies and efforts to reschedule but tardiness at this level is not professional nor indicative of the hotel’s standards. A decent enough stay but there are plenty of other hotels at this level to choose from in future.
