Expect lots of stunning countryside here: pretty, rolling hills covered in olive groves, grapevines, wildflowers and tall cypress trees. And what could be better than enjoying a glass of local Bardolino in Bardolino? We’ll drink to that!
If you’re holidaying with children (or just the young at heart!), the amusement parks Gardaland and Movieland are just six miles (10 kilometres) south of the hotel. Car hire is easily arranged on site.

Hotel Caesius borders the medieval village of Lazise on the south eastern banks of Lake Garda. Cisano is simply beautiful - boats bobbing in the harbour, lively trattorias serving deliciously fresh local food and a sense that time has stood still. While Cisano is lovely, it is also very small, so if you're looking for something with a little more va va voom, stroll the lakeside promenade (or hire a bicicletta) and you’ll be in the pretty town of Bardolino in around 20-minutes.
Bardolino buzzes with colourful cuisine, superb shopping and fiery sunsets. The historic centre is picture postcard pretty - cobbled streets, pretty pastel fronted buildings and the lights of the lake twinkling in the background. Bardolino is also the centre of one of Italy's major wine regions, so why not enjoy a day at a vineyard - there are lots nearby - tasting some home grown treats? Bardolino is also a great base to explore the area; there are regular ferries that will take you all the way up to Malcesine, Limone and Riva by way of Salo and Gardone. Or travel south to the pretty towns of Sirmione, Desenzano and Peschiera.
Despite being right on the banks of Lake Garda, don't expect long sandy beaches here. Bardolino does however have a small shingle beach, where you can rent a pedalo and enjoy a moment of peace on the waters of one of our favourite Italian lakes.
