Hotel Le Querce

Not the best for families I travelled with my wife and 12 month old daughter. Firstly the good parts: Beautiful views, very clean hotel, breakfast, lunch and drinks all great. Pool was nice and spacious. Nice location, as previously reviewed a 20minute stroll down to the port. Bus stop directly outside to explore the island. A few things which needs to be improved: Sea view room with balcony booked. Only accessible through a steep stair case, which navigating with a pram was not ideal. There was a shorter access route which required less stairs, however this is closed in the evening. We asked to be moved and the hotel accommodated. However on moving all our cases and luggage to the new room we were told there was now an increase on cost! Not explained previously, I refused and ultimately the hotel honoured our original rate. The mini bus holds circa 10people. We put our name down on the list and was the first customers to do so for that evening. The bus was departing approx 18.30. We got to the bus at 18.25. To see the mini bus full. Despite explaining the driver we were the first names down he simply replied I will be back in 20 minutes and drove off. I complained to reception who shrugged their shoulders and said you will be on the next bus. We had a dinner reservation at 19.00 which we then missed as we arrived at 19.20 and they had given the table away. We did phone but they didn’t answer presumably as they were busy serving customers. We had made the reservation 4 weeks prior such was our desire to go to this specific restaurant. Point being. Just because your name is on the mini bus list doesn’t mean you will be on the mini bus. Why the driver doesn’t simply cross people off on giving their room numbers is beyond me. The pool although fantastic for swimming was like a morgue. Total silence. You could hear a pin drop. We was the only people with a child in the hotel. Any cry, laugh or splash from our daughter was met by some with a look of disgust. If you don’t like kids, don’t want kids at your hotel book an adults only hotel. A point of note: The walk down to the port involves some steep curbs and edges and at some points the pavement completely stops so you have to cross the busy road to continue your descended to the port. In all crossing the road several times to make sure you have an actual pavement to walk on. This hotel is mostly very good but best suited for adults who don’t mind children and accept that there maybe children in the pool on holiday splashing, laughing and having fun,

Beautiful hotel that makes you feel at home. Joe and staff at the front desk were always very pleasant, professional and helpful. Especially helpful with rainy weather, ferry scheduling and taxi ride to the port the day I left. I am so appreciative for their kindness. I highly suggest using the spa services. Connie is a lovely person who made my spa experience one I will never forget. I ate breakfast and dinner in the dining room. The cuisine was all very delicious. My compliments to the chef. My waiter "Bond" was so very pleasant and attentive. Francesco at the bar was serving some good drinks and conversation. The hotel is spotless, has gorgeous views and is beautifully decorated. The thermal pools are amazing. My room had a balcony with a view that I will never forget. I look forward to returning to Ischia and staying at Le Querce Resort…
