Sentido Michelizia Tropea Resort

The hotel would have a great potential. Unfortunately it’s poorly managed. Improvements in the rooms’ Cleanliness would be highly recommended. The AC was barely working, making it difficult to cool the room. Breakfast is quite good, but in Italy you would expect a real Italian coffee and cappuccino (not a very cheap automatic machine with milk powder). Trade off price and quality is poor. Not a four star hotel

I’m If i could have given this place built around a main public street that calls itself a 4 star “resort” zero stars, i would have.  If you are fortunate to get one of the very few top floor rooms on the right side with working air conditioners, you might be able to at least survive until check out, but don’t expect any 4 star amenities. The rooms are small and beds very uncomfortable. You don’t get daily clean towels, so be careful with the two you get when you check in. You’ll have to pay premium prices for water as well as any meals.   Their beach club, which is a lot further than stated on their website is quite small and made of pebbles. A small umbrella with two chairs costs from 30 to 50 euros, depending on which of the 3 crowded rows you choose on the tiny beach. Beach towels are an extra 5 euros a day.                                                                                                       Don’t count on using their pool with below zero water temperature and a disgusting bathroom.                                                                                If on the other hand, you are assigned one of the  rooms on the ground floor, as 4 members in our group were, despite the fact their special offer contained photos of a spacious double room on an upper floor with a terrace, then  be ready to spend sleepless nights breathing mold and some kind of smelly Raid-like chemical. If you ask for a room that doesn’t smell as bad, then you get a room in the attic, with extremely  low ceilings, one skylight, and an air conditioner that will keep your room in the high 80s.   If you decide to open the skylight window for some fresh air,  get ready to be eaten alive by all kinds of bugs. The window has no screens and no shades.                                                                                                        If you get tired of moving to their endless smelly, hot rooms and decide to check out early, at first they pretend to be understanding, apologetic, and cooperative, and tell you they will give you a  refund for the days you prepaid, but when you get ready to leave, first the manager tells you you have to talk to their administrative  office, they give you a phone number, which basically is the same as the reception. When you point this out, they say no, it’s the main administrative office. You patiently call the number and ask for the administrator, Surprise, surprise, there is no administrative office. The hotel reception is also the main administrative office. When you tell Antonella, you are going to post reviews of your experiences, she gets mad and accuses you  of blackmail.  Basically they robbed us of over 2000+ euros and worse, three precious days of our 6 day vacation in Tropea.
