About the location
Holidays in Verona take you to a city steeped in culture. Galleries, opera and Romanesque and Gothic architecture make this the perfect destination for art and history buffs. Situated between Milan and Venice, the city has UNESCO World Heritage status thanks to its architecture and history as a military stronghold.
Verona was a centre for artists in the Renaissance era, and you can see a collection of paintings and sculptures in the Museo di Castelvecchio. The city is renowned for its Romanesque 11th and 12th Century churches, and their displays of valuable artworks. There are also landmarks dating back to Verona's days as a Roman colony, including the amphitheatre, which was built in the 1st Century. Romantics will delight in visiting the city of love, the setting for Romeo and Juliet. You can visit Casa di Giulietta, (Juliet’s house), and have your photo taken on the famous balcony.
Verona is also an excellent destination for an active holiday. Lake Garda is a stone's throw away, and there are plenty of walking opportunities, both around the lake and Il Vittoriale botanical gardens. Or, join a bike sharing service and explore the city's sights and the paths along the river Adige.

During our 2.5 weeks stay in Italy. We found hotel Indigo has the most comfortable bed during our stay. The staffs were friendly. Our room was located on the second floor and was quiet. We parked our car in the secured garage near by recommended by the hotel for 20??? per night. There are many great restaurants in the walking distance. We went to CasaMatta on our last night. We have passed by several times and it was always full of locals. Verona is such a lovely city. If we will return there, we would choose to stay again at Hotel Indigo!

I was very happy with this hotel. The bed mattress was super comfortable, and the room (at the back of the hotel) was very quiet. The location was convenient both for the train station and city centre. The breakfast was all laid out as a buffet but in the current circumstances guests were not allowed to take food themselves, instead having to be served by a member of staff. The hot food (scrambled egg and bacon) was pretty cold, even though I was there as soon as breakfast had started at 7am.

We stayed in the Grand Hotel on the first, and last day of our week away in Italy. Central location, amazingly soft and comfortable beds and exceptionally friendly staff, we even got a free upgrade on our first night ;) Breakfast had a wide variety and was served until 1100, giving us more time to enjoy our extra holiday sleep! Highly recommended.

We stayed at the hotel in early February and it was a pleasure from start to finish. The staff were polite and attentive, the room had that wow factor as we opened the door and it was huge! A really great size with wonderful amenities and amazing bed. The breakfast was served until late and was very good, loads of different options to choose from pastries, breads, hams and and array of cheeses juices, mimosas hot dishes, eggs etc.
The bar in the evening was nice, if a little bright but with a generous selection of apperitivos.
All in all a great experience and definitely a proper 4 star hotel. But for the noisy building work near our room during the day it would be 5/5 but our review overall is 4.5/5

Good location - close to centre and station. Decent hotel. Staff - especially reception - were great. Breakfast was decent too. Totally recommend this hotel. They appear to be making improvements too.
