This is the most divine hotel. We were offered an upgrade for a little extra money on arrival and it was well worth it. The staff were so friendly and helpful, really lovely with nothing too much trouble. Food and drinks were lovely and our breakfast in our room every day delicious.
This was my 15 year old???s first time in Venice and she was blown away by walking up to the roof and seeing the city bathed in Autumn light as numerous bells rang out. Just magical. We can???t wait to visit again.
Thank you Splendid for the most wonderful 4 nights.

We stayed at Starhotels Splendid Venice for 3 nights on the first leg of our trip through Italy (booked through Costco), and what a great welcome to Italy it was! Check in was swift and we were thrilled with our corner room that had both a view of the canal, as well as the bridge and little shops down the way-and a bottle of chilled champagne on arrival. The rooms have windows that you can open to let fresh air in and they have shutters if you want to be sure the morning light doesn???t wake you (these are also helpful if you are bothered by evening noise). The bathroom is done in marble and the mini bar was fully appointed. After we got settled, we stopped by the front desk to inquire about a place to have lunch having just arrived and not yet gotten our bearings. The front desk not only made a suggestion, but called to make a reservation AND had the bellman walk us to the restaurant!
What makes this hotel really stand out are the front desk people. Our luggage did not arrive with our flight, which can be expected. But when it had still not arrived the next day we got worried and had little luck with the airline. We asked the front desk to let us know if it arrived and after hearing our story, they offered to make calls for us so we could enjoy our vacation without worry. Then when the luggage did arrive, they were quick to deliver to our room and notify us that it was there. They had also assured us that in the unlikely event that the luggage did not arrive by the time we had to move on to Florence, that they would make sure it was taken to Florence quickly-luckily it did not come to this but it was so nice of them to assure us all along the way.
The hotel also provided a complimentary tour of a Murano glass factory. We took them up on this as Murano was on our list of places to see anyway. We were picked up in a very nice wood boat and had an excellent ride over to the island of Murano where we were greeted by Pria at the Estevan Rosetto Glass Factory. Pria provided a lovely explanation of the glass blowing process while we looked on at the glass artists. We were then taken to the showroom and Pria provided information when asked but also afforded us space to discover. From there, Pria set us up with a ride over to Burano for a lace factory tour. She set us up with a lunch reservation which ended up being such a great suggestion and then we went to the little lace shop and learned about that craft. We had to catch the ferry home, but had time to walk around the beautiful fishing village first with the multi-colored houses. I would definitely recommend taking the hotel up on this offer. It is definitely a no-pressure way to spend a day or afternoon.
The only disappointing thing about the property was the breakfast service. Due to COVID they are dishing each guest up individually which can result in waiting in line. The breakfast was good with plenty of wonderful pastries; fresh, dried and canned fruit; yogurts; cheeses and meats and eggs. The scrambled eggs were undercooked in my opinion so we stuck to the hard boiled. Servers do not appear to be assigned to tables so on a couple of occasions we had ordered coffee and after 10-15 minutes still had not received it so ordered again (typically from another server). This can be expected, but on one occasion I had to order my cappuccino four times before getting it. This said, our overall breakfast experience was good-just could have been made better with an improved delivery system for both the meal and coffee service.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
