About the location
Everyone knows about Pisa’s Leaning Tower and magnificent baroque basilica, but look behind these brochure cover stars and you’ll find an array of modem museums, picturesque piazzas and exceptional restaurants vying for your attention. Of course, the city’s wonky bell tower is its main draw and is entirely deserving of its worldwide fame. Taking a novelty photo in front of the tower is great fun – book ahead if you want to climb to the top to avoid the queues. The entire area, known as the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and packs plenty of appeal. Along with the tower, you can visit landmarks including the 11th-century marble-clad duomo and the remarkable baptistery, believed to be the largest in Italy.
Wander just a few streets away and you’ll discover a much more typical Pisan scene; locals milling about beneath rustic townhouses, and bustling cafes nestled in peaceful squares. Piazza de Cavalieri and Piazza Dante are two such examples of the authentic Pisa that many miss. Pisa’s botanical gardens are also worth a visit, and feature numerous rare plants set in surprisingly tranquil surroundings, especially considering their location is just a 10-minute stroll from the city’s famous Leaning Tower.

Stayed here one night. as arriving flight arrived at 2350hrs. Walked from Airport to Hotel, which is took about 20 minutes and was very straightforwards.
The location is both ideal for exploring Pisa and the wider Tuscany region, given that it???s across the square from Pisa Centrale train station.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Such a perfect location for accessing trains across Italy and exploring Pisa.
Smooth check in, luggage was stored for us, as we arrived early afternoon. Friendly staff.
Our room was as expected, but an added bonus was that we had been allocated our room on the top floor over looking the station. Extra special as we had a small balcony area we could sit out and people watch (and drink wine).
In my opinion this hotel is more a 3/4 star hotel due to the lack of a bar area and some of the room being a little tired, door scraped across the wood when opened / closed.
We would definitely stay here again.

Went for a business trip and stayed nh hotel across Pisa central station. Arrogant staff in the reception, boring and expensive breakfast for ???16 plus that the hotel charged me for an extra night when I wanted to change my booking on site although it was three nights before I was to check out. Needed to go home earlier du to sickness in the family but there was no consideration from the hotel.
Only good thing was the daily cleaning and change of towels.

We stayed at Naples, Rome, Pisa, Florence and Milan on our Italian tour and Pisa was the unexpected gem. I???d read, constantly, that apart from the tower, there was nothing in the city. Ok, I wouldn???t spend a week here, but it???s a charming place, worthy of two nights.
The NH Pisa is so conveniently placed, directly opposite the train station, and is a well appointed hotel. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was clean and quiet.
Check-in was efficient, helpful and polite. We chose the option not to have our room serviced one day and were rewarded with two drinks from the open bar (basically, a fridge with drinks in).
The one thing the room lacks is a restaurant that serves food apart from breakfast. That said, I???d heartily recommend Buca San Ranieri which is on a side street at the back of the hotel.
Breakfast was fine with plenty of options (maybe Italians enjoy green beans and carrots with their scrambled eggs in the morning?)
Don???t be afraid to book this hotel.
