About the location
Everyone knows about Pisa’s Leaning Tower and magnificent baroque basilica, but look behind these brochure cover stars and you’ll find an array of modem museums, picturesque piazzas and exceptional restaurants vying for your attention. Of course, the city’s wonky bell tower is its main draw and is entirely deserving of its worldwide fame. Taking a novelty photo in front of the tower is great fun – book ahead if you want to climb to the top to avoid the queues. The entire area, known as the Piazza dei Miracoli (Square of Miracles), has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and packs plenty of appeal. Along with the tower, you can visit landmarks including the 11th-century marble-clad duomo and the remarkable baptistery, believed to be the largest in Italy.
Wander just a few streets away and you’ll discover a much more typical Pisan scene; locals milling about beneath rustic townhouses, and bustling cafes nestled in peaceful squares. Piazza de Cavalieri and Piazza Dante are two such examples of the authentic Pisa that many miss. Pisa’s botanical gardens are also worth a visit, and feature numerous rare plants set in surprisingly tranquil surroundings, especially considering their location is just a 10-minute stroll from the city’s famous Leaning Tower.

We asked for a quiet room and was put on 1st floor opposite the station. Asked for another room but they didn???t have another room with walk in shower. Also, they do not have smart TVs and there were no English channels to watch. Very disappointing when you want to relax after a long day.

I don't normally write reviews, but this hotel exceeded my expectations.
I booked the NH Pisa hotel because it was across the road from the railway station. My flight was scheduled to land late in the evening and I didn't want to find my way across the city late at night. Also, I was attending a meeting at CNR. The directions provided by CNR said to catch a 3+ bus from the railway station.
I booked a family room with terrace because the reviews of the standard and superior rooms were varied, but the reviews of the family rooms with terrace were overwhelmingly positive. On my birthday, I received an offer from NH Hotels of 20% off my next direct booking, which made the room excellent value for money.
I loved the terrace, the sitting room downstairs with sofa and armchair, the comfortable bed upstairs and the rain shower in the bathroom. The room was very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was excellent. It's a 25 minute walk to the Tower of Pisa or you can catch a bus from the railway station.
I would definitely stay at NH PIsa again if I returned to Pisa.
