About the location
Holidays in Lucca take you to the beautiful Tuscan countryside in the heart of Italy. This Renaissance town is home to 16th Century architecture and historic sights, with the vineyards and rolling green hills of Tuscany just outside its walls.
Perfect for a city break or part of a longer trip, spend your holidays in Lucca partaking in the ancient Italian art of people watching in the relaxed cafés and family run trattorias lining its streets and bustling Piazzas. Wander the streets or hire bicycles and stop off at the many beautiful sights, before heading into the countryside for wine tasting, exquisite cuisine and spectacular photo opportunities.
Day trips are a must on any holiday in Lucca. Florence’s Renaissance architecture and wonderful artworks are just over an hour away by train or car. Visit the leaning tower of Pisa or the town of Livorno which dates back to the 16th Century. Both are under an hour away.
The hotel is 30 minute transfer from Pisa airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

I have stayed at this wonderful hotel before and I will be returning again. It is a smaller hotel, privately owned and it is inside the city wall of Lucca. Staff here are all long serving, so if you stay a second time, you will be recognised and they are all most welcoming.
There is a wide choice of rooms here with some leading onto a terrace, where there is a hot tub.
Larger rooms and suites are in the medieval gatehouse, which is directly opposite the hotel.
Breakfast is very good here, a great choice. The hotel offers complimentary tea and coffee all day long, there are even kettles in the bedrooms, there are snacks available all day and from 5.00pm to 7.00pm the hotel offers complimentary sparkling wine or beer to its guests.
The hotel also has a car park.

We only stayed one night as part of a Liberation Route Europe FAM trip but from the moment we arrived until checkout, you felt as if you were the only guest. A beautiful setting with a private courtyard and peaceful atmosphere immediately helped me relax and soak in the Tuscan surroundings. The lobby is well laid out as is the bar area. Front desk staff were most helpful and very quick checking us in. I was in my room and relaxing within 10 minutes of arriving. My window opened onto the entrance street and the view was wonderful and transported me back to a different time. The breakfast was as comprehensive as you could get, with every offering for any taste. My only criticism is that we did not stay longer. I highly recommend staying here and using the town of Lucca as your base to explore this amazing region.
