The reason for the one less stars is because the pillows are horrible and make for a lousy sleep and the shower leaked water all over the floor. breakfast was excellent on the terrace and they offered snack food and drinks all day complimentary w a wine bar also at 5:00 PM. Overall it realy was the perfect spot. we didnt use the complimentary bikes but it was a great add on for guests.

We stayed in a refurbished annex in the towers of the old wall. Very well appointed room but sadly, for us, lacked any authentic, Italian feel. Wardrobe hanging arrangement is an odd hooked stick due to the height of the hangers. Hair drier is wall mounted, good but awkward.
Pros:
- location
- helpful staff who booked restaurants; Puccini concert and wine tasting
- Prosecco happy hour between 5 and 7 a nice touch
- easy walking distance from the Railway Station
- fantastic fast mobile charging points literally by the beds
Cons:
- sadly a little generic as a hotel
- breakfast room now too small (given additional annex rooms) which can result in queues

Just returned from a 3 night stay at this superb hotel.
Everything from location, decor, facilities & food are top notch ( 5* )

Above & beyond all of our expectations, including a gust complimentary cafe
between 12:00 - 19:00 p.m. and happy hour between 17 : 00 & 19:00 when Prosecco
is on the house !!! - Never seen either of the above before.
The hotel was fastidiously clean and the client care was second to none.
A big thanks to everyone client facing and behind the scenes, who made this break 5 Star in the true sense of the word. !!!

Lucca train station is very close by and an easy walk from the hotel to go exploring...

Lucca train station is very close by and an easy walk from the hotel to go exploring on the fantastic Italian rail system. Getting to Pisa airport was very easy on the train and people mover tram from Pisa central.

Absolutely fantastic stay at this fabulous hotel. We were in a double superior room and in the old historic towers which was just up the street from it.
The room was really modern, great facilities.
The hotel provided a free buffet from 12pm with free prosecco from 5pm to 7pm. Such an amazing service and met some great people.
The staff in the hotel were so accommodating, went out of their way to help.
Breakfast was decent, good selection of food, again staff great.
Could not fault this hotel. Lucca is such a lovely place and we would definitely come back but only if we could get the same hotel.
