Discover Volterra

Discover Volterra

Volterra is one of Tuscany’s most scenic hilltop walled towns, with its handsome main square, ancient, cobbled streets and Etruscan heritage. Don’t miss The Piazza dei Priori, a magnificent example of a Medieval public space and to add to its mysterious atmosphere, the Rocca Nuova, a dominating Renaissance prison that’s still in use still today. Volterra is also famous for its alabaster processing, a craft that has a long tradition here and to which the town owes its nickname “City of Alabaster”.
