About the location
Ragusa (setting of the TV detective show Inspector Montalbano) is one of Sicily’s most photogenic towns, a jumble of baroque buildings sprawled across a hillside in the UNESCO-listed Val di Noto. It’s split into two parts; Ragusa Ibla is the older, more traditional area, while Ragusa Superiore has a more modern feel.
Ragusa Ibla is a warren of atmospheric lanes, which wind down the hillside and open out into sunny piazzas every so often. Look out for the Duomo di San Giorgio, one of the island’s grandest cathedrals, and the Giardino Ibleo, a leafy park with lovely valley views. Head up to Ragusa Superiore and you’ll find another cathedral, plus shops, cafes and photo-worthy views across Ragusa Ibla and the surrounding area.
Ragusa is an ideal base for exploring southern Sicily. Discover the equally beautiful towns of Noto and Modica, head to the beach for the day, or make a trip to stunning Syracuse.
The hotel is 35 mins from Comiso Airport or 1hr 30 mins from Catania Airport. Return private transfers included. To change your transfers or book car hire instead, simply call us once you’ve completed your booking.

We stayed 3 nights with our tour group here. We were in room 5 on floor 0. Our door was in a hallway but we had a patio door that went directly outside. Room included a safe, 2 bottles of complimentary water daily. Bed was okay, but pillows were awful. They were so flat, we had additional pillows brought to the room and they were still uncomfortable. Bathroom was fine. Hotel is using squeeze bottles of soap/shampoo to limit plastic, but unfortunately the one near the sinks was empty and never refilled throughout our stay. Since this was a double room would have been nice to have 2 chairs. We only had one, so one of us had to sit on the bed. AC worked great!
Staff were welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was very nice with crispy bacon , scrambled eggs, breads, fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, and lots of desserts. They made coffee to order but had pots of American-style coffee out in the buffet. Tables were both inside and outside in order to enjoy the sunrise. In the afternoon to early evening you could order drinks and sit outside. Location is very convenient fir walking into town.

This hotel was recommended to us by a kind waiter in ‘That’s A Moro’ restaurant and it was a treasure! The entrance from the ground floor was an experience in its self. It’s built into the mountain. This was a last minute booking and when we got there an extremely friendly receptionist named Sofia who had very good English checked us in, she then showed us to our room, the restaurant for breakfast and terrace. The view from our room was beautiful, the hotel was fantastic and I would definitely stay there again if we returned to Ragusa. I can recommend no problem at all and the price was also very reasonable!
