Street Food

Sicilian cuisine is the stuff of legend – it’s a hodgepodge of cultures and flavours, brought together through centuries of home cooking performed by a population from across the globe. The very newest branch of this is the increasingly popular concept of street food. This type of cuisine is typically fried, generally quick to make, and always extraordinarily tasty.

Arancini is by far the most popular option for locals and holidaymakers alike, and these deep-fried rice balls are now becoming internationally popular for their moreish flavour and ease of preparation. Cannoli is also a Sicilian staple with many enjoying the sweet ricotta treats for their dessert. Pezzi di Rosticceria is another top option – literally translating to ‘deli portions’, and combining dozens of other street food bites into one street food feast. Most towns will have stalls selling food late into the evening, so take a stroll and see what you can find.
