About the location
Isola Rossa – or Red Island – is a traditional fishing village and one of Sardinia’s hottest new destinations. Great for an authentic Italian escape, this picturesque commune is perhaps best known for its beautiful surroundings, gaining its name from the unique red-rock outcrop that emerges from the sea a little way out.
Isola Rossa has a great laid-back vibe, with a vibrant little harbour right at the centre that offers easy mooring and boat hire. Crowned by a dramatic ancient tower, the village features a beautiful sandy beach with crystal-clear water that’s fantastic for snorkelling, as well as a handful of great restaurants.
What’s more, the village is situated within easy driving distance of many of the island’s best locations. The dramatic plateau of Castelsardo is only 30 minutes away, while the characterful seaside town of Santa Teresa di Gallura can be reached in 45 minutes.
Transfer time
The hotel is 1 hour 15 minutes from Olbia airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

We stayed at Hotel Marinedda for our honeymoon (even though our wedding was cancelled due to covid). The staff are so friendly and work exceptionally hard. They're always available for any query no matter how big or small.
We arrived late at night and the staff had put out a lovely platter of fresh meats, fish, cheeses, fruit and a bottle of wine.
The hotel is very picturesque with low level buildings that blend into the surrounding landscape. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean as was our room. Very impressed with room service and their ability to clean our suite whilst we were at breakfast (without bumping into them once in 11 days).
The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxing and the food really is impressive.
Evening entertainment (live music) finishes at 11pm so maybe don't book this hotel if you want entertaining into the night. The drinks prices are expensive but that's to be expected in a up market hotel and it's no more than I've paid elsewhere.
The beach near the hotel is sandy and great for a swim as it's not too windy. I was a little disappointed that unless you get a back row sunlounger, you have to pay to use them.
A free hotel shuttle service is available to visit the local fishing town which we enjoyed using during our stay.
The Thalasso Spa was definitely worth a visit too!
Covid regulations were adhered to at all time.
So glad we booked to stay at Hotel Marinedda. Can't wait to visit again!

This was our first visit to this hotel and we really enjoyed it. Buffet breakfast and dinners were great and well managed - staff serve you (due to COVID). You can book waiter service dinner as an alternative.
Sandy beach just a walk across the beach road in a beautiful cove with specific section owned by the hotel as it is a public beach - there are charges for a half day or full day for the sun loungers.
The hotel is hilly, so be warned, but there are buggies if people can???t walk.
Live music in the evening until 10.30pm so you need to be aware if you have a room near this. Children???s club can be noisy until 10pm but only for rooms near this.
The little village of Isola Rossa is close by where you can hire a motor boat, some useful shops there and a supermarket.
Wonderful spa with different treatments were available, there is a charge to spend time in the spa pools and facilities even if you are having a treatment.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is set in well kept grounds on a hillside that runs down to a pretty beach front.
The Covid measures that Alessandro and his staff have put in place provided peace of mind without impacting the enjoyment of our vacation. A really good balance.
This was our third trip to the hotel in 11 years. The staff are amongst the best that we have experienced. They really do go the ???extra mile??? and provide the warmest of welcomes. You???ll soon feel at home, relaxed and enjoying yourself. And then there???s the food. Wow. Don???t worry about looking for a local restaurant - you???ll have the very best right under your nose. EAT IN THE HOTEL RESTAURANTS!! First Class. Thank you Marinedda.

Stayed here for a week in August2020. The whole stay was fantastic from start to finish. Amazing room with superb sea views and spacious and well appointed. excellent food and service throughout including on the beach. The rooms were serviced twice a day.The COVID measures were done very well..masks in reception and when entering/leaving restaurants and when walking around buffet. Hand sanitisers stations around the whole property and all sunbeds around pool and on beach sanitised between clients. Two pools were lovely as was the spa which they kindly gave us complimentary use on 2 occasions. Plenty of walks away from traffic and a supermarket 15 mins walk away. We did have
a car which we used for transport from the airport and for exploring. A very nice and easy 1.5 hours drive from olbia. A car for the week costs less than a two way transfer. We would definitely go again. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I have spend almost 2 weeks there, apartments are very nice but the beach is small and you need to cross a main road to get to it.
Sports facilities are neglected and poorly organised.
Food was average and the extras were extraordinarily high.
Will NOT visit again as there are much nice places in Sardinia to go to.
