Ideally situated a short walk to Porto Cavallo Beach and 3 km from the shops and restaurants of Polignano a Mare, the stylish Cala Ponte Hotel is a haven for guests after a day of exploration. Uniquely blended in neutral shades with the soft undertone of Apulian heritage coming through, the guestrooms have a modern, understated elegance to them and are designed for ultimate relaxation and comfort. Tennis courts, a football pitch and a large swimming pool are available for guests and the hotel’s Spa & Wellness centre is the perfect retreat for weary minds, offering facilities such as, a Jacuzzi, sauna and a variety of treatments. The Cala Ponte captures the typical Apulian culture in its clever design; features around the grounds include olive trees, Trulli houses and amphoras that help provide guests with an introductory insight into what Puglia has to offer.

About the location

Polignano a Mare is a postcard town settled on Puglia’s Adriatic coast. Its old town clusters on a clifftop, with the newer part of town unfolding behind. The limestone cliffs on this part of the coast are honeycombed with caves. You can swim to some of them straight from the white-pebble beach of Cala Porto; to see those further away, hire a kayak to paddle along the coast.

The old town’s maze of narrow streets are edged with whitewashed houses. Radiating out from the café-lined Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, they twist and turn before emerging out onto panoramic terraces overlooking the coast (perfect spots for watching the cliff divers jumping and somersaulting into the clear waters).

Polignano a Mare puts you in a great position for exploring more of Puglia. Historic Monopoli is only 10 minutes along the coast, the Castellana Caves are 20 minutes’ drive away, and Alberobello’s iconic trulli can be reached in half an hour.

Transfer time

The hotel is 1 hour 15 minutes from Bari airport and 1 hour from Brindisi airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.
