About the location
Visible for miles around, Ostuni is a gleaming tumble of painted buildings and dramatic brick-built palaces, perched almost entirely on a steep hilltop. Ostuni’s whitewashed centro storico lends the town its second name as the ‘White City’ of Puglia, and there are few places as atmospheric found anywhere else in the region. Most visits begin with a walk through the old town, towards the mighty duomo towering high above the Puglian plains. It’s a steep ascent, but one that’ll take you through some of the most magical of Ostuni’s streets: think white-walled passages with uneven floors and pretty cafes tucked into sheltered courtyards. The views at the top are well worth the climb, and the beautiful 15th-century cathedral with its 24-pane rose window is quite a sight, too.
The town’s bar and restaurant scene is richly authentic, with quaint trattorie serving local favourites such as orecchiette – a small, ear-shaped pasta that’s generally eaten with vegetable-based sauces and often served alongside a handsome house red. For true wine connoisseurs, one of the local wine tours is a must-do, taking visitors into some of the region’s finest wineries.

Ostuni is 58 miles from Bari airport and 23 miles from Brindisi airport. We recommend hiring a car in your destination. Simply call us once you’ve completed your booking and we will talk you through the options.

I want to start with the positives, the hotel is fine, rooms are fine, location is great and the staff are excellent and really friendly.
So why only 2 stars?
I feel the marketing team have been disingenuous. I???m sure it???s all there in the small print but, when you search for hotels and look at the images they use to promote their hotel, you are under the impression that???s what you are booking. In this hotel that???s not the case.
Their images show a lovely swimming pool on the roof with Ostuni in the background. That pool exists but it???s not for hotel guests!!! They also show an indoor pool. That pool exits but it???s ???45 to use it within the spa.
Very disappointing when your ???search??? criteria included a pool!! And we chose this one on that criteria!
I travel a lot and this is the first hotel that I have stayed in that charges for the water in your room. ??????
So, with choices of hotels to stay in, you can???t help but feel conned when their chosen images do not match reality.
Again to end on a positive, location is only a stroll from the historical old town with all it has to offer. Plenty of convenient parking, friendly helpful staff and decent size rooms.
But, it???s not what it says on the tin. 🤨??????

We stayed for 4 nights in the villas that sit behind the hotel, atop the hill. They are self catering and exactly what we needed after staying in the masseria acella for a wedding. Exactly what we needed, a bit of family time. The pool was quiet and right at our door. Lots of space, nice and clean. We would have liked a few more amenities. There was no toaster, kettle or microwave. And the WiFi was a bit patchy, but outside that it was great. What I would mention, and so do the hotel in fairness, is access to the villas. You can drive or take the 140 steps. These are to be factored in when booking as they are a tough walk as we didn't have a car. Luckily, the hotel had a courtesy car for the luggage. But for us it was worth the view looking over oustuni, which was stunning. The staff as well were all lovely and very helpful.

Great staff let down by a couple of odd commercial policies.

Firstly let me praise the staff of the property. They are fantastic. Do friendly and helpful. Any negative comments relate to the hotel policies. We stayed in one of the apartments. They are nice enough but the main benefit is access to the pool which guests in the main hotel do not get access to. The pool has lovely views. The only sticking point was the 130 steps up to it every day.
Breakfast is in a soulless corporate style room and mediocre.
What we found strange was additional charges for things. If we wanted pool towels we had to pay ??5 per towel for them. You were allowed two toilet rolls and if you wanted more you had to pay. If you wanted a cleaning/maid service daily they wanted to charge you 35 euros a day. I just think a 4 star hotel shouldn???t be looking to make extra on these incidentals.
Overall the hotel is good value and just a pleasant 10 minute walk into the city???s historic centre.

We had a fantastic stay at this excellent hotel, which offers all modern facilities and comforts. We stayed in a superior room with a stunning view of the old town and the Adriatic Sea on the horizon???truly magnificent!
A big thank you to the staff at the reception for their warm hospitality, and a special thank you to Sonya from the kitchen staff. She went above and beyond to take care of our dietary requirements throughout our six-day stay. Her attention to detail and kindness made a real difference.
Highly recommended ??? AAA experience!

We picked this hotel for the free parking , but the hotel has an oddity that you have to run receptukn to turn the air conditioning on/ off , change fan speed etc . The control in the room we stayed in did nothing even though the lights changed . This hotel did not provide any free bottled water , unlike the other 3 hotels we stayed in puglia . The breakfast is varied but the area feels like a bland conference hall .
The only good thing about this hotel is they did allow early checking and 12.30 late check out for free
