This ancient town on the outskirts of Rome is home to the most breath-taking Roman villas and gardens in the country. In this five-hour tour, you’ll be guided through these fascinating villas and see for yourself what made the ancient Romans fall in love with Tivoli.
In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Rome and enjoy the Lazio countryside during the short journey to Tivoli. On arrival, your professional guide will take you inside the 2nd-century Villa Adriana, where you’ll see the mix of architectural styles from ancient Egypt, Rome and Athens.
Next, the tour then turns to Villa d’Este, a Renaissance-style palace set in one of the most beautiful landscaped gardens in Italy. Inspired by the ancient gardens of Babylon, the grounds are filled with fountains, grottos and statues and are perfect to stroll on a sunny day. Finally, you’ll bid arrivederci to the countryside and catch your return transport to Rome.
