Spend a day exploring two of Italy’s most important archaeological sites in one incredible trip. Our full-day tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum lets you walk in the footsteps of the residents of these famous Roman towns, with an expert guide to give you a real insight into what you’re looking at.
You’ll begin at Pompeii, wandering through the ruins, baths, forums and villas that characterised a wealthy Roman town in 79AD. When the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried the town in ash, its frescoes and architectural features were miraculously preserved.
Next, you’ll visit the neighbouring town of Herculaneum, a far more recent discovery in the region. Where Pompeii was thickly engulfed by volcanic ash, Herculaneum was covered in lava, resulting in much of the town’s buildings, mosaics and woodwork remaining intact.
