The city of Naples is positioned on the waterside looking out towards the Gulf of Naples and famously neighbours the majestic Mount Vesuvius. Whilst the city is rich in art, history and culture it is also known for its exquisite local foods, that use local traditions and ingredients to create truly authentic Italian dishes, Naples was after all the founding city of pizza!
On this walking tour you’ll begin in the Piazza Dante (will be reconfirmed once in resort) where you’ll see Dante’s statue before you begin your tour of the cities food. You’ll discover the history behind local products as you wander the streets and sample local treats including Sfogliatella - a delicate pastry that originates from Naples. You’ll pass through the city’s historic centre which was declared a UNCESCO world heritage site in 1995 and see beautiful churches and architecture along the way.
Lasting around 3 hours this tour gives great insight into traditional cooking practices as well as the history and origins of famous local dishes.
